I warned my brother about buying one of these, unfortunately he didn't listen, he's had it less than a month and it's already in for repair.

Apparently the safety keeps jamming on when the gun gets warm.

Personally I think beretta have had loads of issues with this model, which is a shame really as I think they are a cracking looking gun at a sensible price

3 or 4 times today it would,nt open

checked it over when i got home found what looks like a crack behind

the top ejector also seems alot of play in this ejector compared to

the bottom ejector

My Dad's 692 jams when it gets warm. He took it back to the dealer and they blamed him for not cleaning it and lubricating it correctly......the barrel selector is also jumping to no-mans land after the first shot if he fires bottom barrel first, causing him to not be able to fire the second barrel without flicking the selector between shots.
My 692 was excellent......until the top lever pivot and catch needed changing......oh, and the safety catch spring broke.......and there was the time if you fired top barrel first it wouldn't let you fire the bottom without pushing the selector back into position. I owned it just over 12 months and put about 18,000 cartridges through it inbetween trips back to the shop for repair......

Eventually enough was enough and I got rid of it, but sadly not before my Dad went and bought one...

This is a fairly common fault even with the 682, what happens is that the shooter inadvertently brushes the selector over in the act of flicking the lever open !  I actually had the serrated edges filed clean off on my old 682, the problem is less severe on the E version but I always check where it is between stands.

We thought that may be the case with both of ours, but proved it to not be.

For the selector to swipe over mid way preventing it from firing it has to either be moved by a finger or judder across by vibration or recoil, you can check if the latter is likely by feeling to see how easy it is to move, most guns are deliberately set a bit on the stiff side to prevent recoil from moving them about.

Looks like Beretta are so concerned about the problem that they are already in the early stages of designing an upgraded replacement the 692.5. Spy photo attached....

I have had mine 12 months now and put about 4k shells through it so not a lot compared to some. Only issue I had was one of the Torx screws on the inside of the fore end working loose which caused the fore end lever to click open after first barrel fired. Tightened it back up and it’s been fine since.

That said I do have a fairly hefty indent on the metal behind my top ejector. Doesn’t look like a crack but I may take it back into the shop I bought it from for a 2nd opinion in case it develops into something worse. Glad I went for the extended 10yr warranty as may end up needing it.

i know its not 692 related but i am now on my 3rd a400 barrel in less than a 1000 shells...wish i never bought it.

have beretta just gone to total sh*te?

Why on earth have you had three barrels? What happened?
