Fascinating thread this... laughs manically then a couple of wee giggles and a snigger!

Here is my input which is a good as one or two of the posts so far.

My guess is there is probably not much profit to be made on making cartridges that will be why the price is going up. One useful tip is if you can't afford them any more but want to shoot the same number of cartridges as before buy cheaper ones. Another top tip is only put cartridges in your gun every second time and simply shout bang as load as you can followed by damn missed again! Now do be aware that your averages will reduce by about 50% no make that ,laughs hysterically, exactly 50% but the up side is you only spend half what you were spending before on cartridges but you don't need to stop there , brays like donkey, you could stop using cartridges all together, doing this will draw attention to yourself but think or the savings ! Trumpets like elephant runs into garden and jumps into the hedge! Now where did I put those shiny happy people laughing pills I need to get there right away!
ah, with reference to your not putting shells in. Believe it or not a few year ago i shot an ot comp, i was late and ended up shooting a squad of 2. Now the other shooter had not shot his last round particularly well so decided for some very strange reason not too shoot at the last 10 or so targets choosing instead to just stand there with barrels on mat and just call the target off. The 3 refs and i assumed he had run out of cartridges however it transpired that this was not the case he just couldn't be bothered. Very strange.

True story.

Still say no cartridges and just a small flag that pops out the bottom tube that says BANG! and the top tube a flag that says BANG AGAIN! Only need to pay for the clays and here is the clincher, for me at least, you don't need to clean your gun after a full days shooting. With the money you save on cartridges you can afford to start smoking again!

Hardcore..

That is they way the best OT shooters train...true story..!!

I use two....they are needed....just saying
I'm certainly not saying I could do it with one. Actually I'm not sure I could do it with two !

As a DTL shooter though, S/B practice certainly can focus the mind.

It certainly focuses the mind.I bet you could do it at DTL.......so you could at OT as well

I do it at Helice every session.....it is good for the soul.

P.s. edit as it could read wrong re the Helice bit....not all session....just part.

Single barrel anything is difficult as it makes you try too hard, which is never good from my experience.

I always think that they should make trap scoring like DTL and that would help save cartridges.

3 points first hit and 2 points second hit.

It would sort out all the chippy lucky second barrel chippers.....like my hubby  and make it cheaper.

Interesting idea.

Don't think issf would welcome it though :)

I had an idea for a knockout competition. 2 person head to head. ABT targets but DTL scoring. Shot from pegs 2 & 4. 20 targets per match (10 from each peg). Filters down until final 2 shooters. 1st round losers go into bottom half of the draw so everybody gets at least two bites at the cherry.

I think this would be great for spectators and a full days entertainment.

Tin hat now firmly fixed in place.

Depends on location of interested parties spose.

Middle of the country??

Rugby........??

Then you could add Helice into the mix ....possibly?

that's 4 hrs for me . South Wales 2000 is much more central :)

Bridgnorth Gun Club would be the ideal host .

Central England easy access from Wales ( Welsh Border Country) Brilliant club house and fabulous food at the Fox Pub afterwards.

I would be happy to organise an event.

Back on topic Eley Olympics £168 per thousand Superbs £196 per thousand Cross Gun Club Kinver.
