Thats bad, how can someone be proud of having there dog mauled and show it off, makes me sick..

I use Shootclay as my main point of interest regarding clay shooting, FB for general stuff, and a HD site for letting my hair down, rallies and meetings ..

Les,

From the few posts that I viewed as a guest everything was littered with swore words and name calling to each other. There is a list at the bottom of the page which presumaby shows the mods for each area and it was identifed as F****, C****s, etc. Sorry not my idea of a forum.

Andy
It takes a special breed to fit in on there mate, the site is intended as a micky take, nothing serious, we're all good mates having a laugh. I have to remember where I am when I come on here, no swearing or micky taking, bit boring really. :.: :D :.:

Like a number of you, I scouted around when first getting into clays and found the Web awash with myriad shooting forums - the problem being that they try and cover ever type of shooting (clay, game, air rifles, S1 weapons, dogs etc) and end-up diluting their over all product, or letting some aspects of shooting on their forums wither on the vine whilst others take over.

I joined a new site, Smashing Clays, when my mate opened it in August, but en route and prior to that, I'd looked at and joined a number of others - some of which are an object lesson in how not to run a web forum, here's a short list: Shooting UK (tumble weed in terms of activity and for ever being hacked, at least when I've visited); Shoot Forum (if you're into barrackroom lawyers and a real clique mentality); The Hunting Life (OK if you're into breeding gun dogs and talking about game shooting, but nigh-on nothing for clay shooters).

I've yet to come across the pigeon sites mentioned above, perhaps because I have no itnerest in game/vermin shooting, but they sound eminently avoidable. :)

Oh, and from what I've read here, this is a good place to be for clay shooters - very conversational, detailed and good natured, Bravo!

PigeonwatchUK is dreadful now, the moderators are absolutely awful.

They allow avitars showing women pole dancing and stripping and such like but you are banned if you suggest that BASC is biased towards banning Lead and that they actively promote the use of Steel as a viable alternative. My friend works for BASC and actively supports and defends their stance, when I challenged something that he posted and said 'In reply to Richard Head' as a lead into my reply, I was banned!!!!!! Ooops sorry Mr. Moderator Sir. There have been other anti BASC threads and once it looks like BASC are taking a pasting the thread is locked.

All that being said though, all websites are good as long as we behave ourselves I suppose.

Except of course the Webbsite which thank God seems dead although Mr. Numbnuts does now frequent Pigeonwatch UK.

A marriage made in heaven.

Shotgunworld.com can be a good site if you don't argue with Americans and don't have any strong views on anything, especially anything to do with shotguns or shooting.

I think this is a good site but I do think that the moderators should ban Admin, just for his choice of music, gun , and friends.

I think some of their mods are OK, it's the membership that drives me insane.

These days they seem to be a motley collection of yokels, who dismiss all "townies" as retards and know-nowts. In reality 99% of yokels know ****-all about the environment they live in. Many "townies" including myself, know more about the countryside that they could ever dream about.

If somebody posts a picture of any medium to large size raptor, all they can say is "Oo-aarrrrr, that be a Buzzard". This is why DEFRA must never agree to a Buzzard cull, because those mongs will shoot everything in sight - "Oo-aarrrr, that be a Buzzard".

I don't go on there any more, because I'm sick to death of people who can't tell their arse from a hole in the ground, trying to tell me what's what. :.:

Given what I've read here, I really must go and have a butcher's at this peigeon site - it sounds like you couldn't write comedy like it. ;)

When I have three seconds to spare you can tell me all you know about the countryside, living in it and working with it. :D

If you try 'Pigeonwatch Forum' ignore the 'Off Topic' bit unless of course you enjoy niff naff and trivia.

The language filter is a joke,it won't allow 'Scunthorpe' and prints it as 'S****horpe' !!

There one or two contributors from here who post on there so it's not all rubbish.

Vic.

Vic, I'm currently not allowed to post over there cos in a Prince Harry bashing thread I posted something along the lines of "it get's up my rrrrrrrrrrrrr's when people slag the Royal Family" It's labelled as 'false swearing' :.: :.: :.:

You'll need about 30 years, not 3 minutes :p (I haven't always lived in Manchester)

One good thing that 'Pigeonwatch' do is their annual 'North v South Charity shoot'.

I think over the last three years it has raised close to £10K for various charities.

Food for thought?

I have been to all of them and they are very good, it's strange how some of the most vocal 'I beat all the clay shooters in their fancy skeet vest with my Hatstand and home load No 6's' are conspicus by their absence though <_<

If it is remember where the North really is then.
Another pastime I have, holds an annual North V South event, usually held somewhere central...like Watford or maybe even as North as Oxford ( :D )...which has a great number of attendees. Perhaps Mr Rutherford, would consider a North V South Team event, perhaps over a few disciplines Trap, Sporting Skeet etc, some sort of prize for the winning team and other proceeds to charity?

I'm only drawing the equator line above Oxford so as the likes of Husthwaite, Solomons, ect, ect are in team North!!!

What would be considered the Shootclay north-south border???
