I've worn various makes of all weather golf gloves for decades, cheaper than shooting gloves! Not much use for warmth I must admit! My current ones are made by Footjoy, soft and very comfy!
Golf. I thought you are shooter.

Footjoy. So Footjoy sell gloves not socks or tights. That sounds interesting. That's where you got those boots.

Macwets last pair lasted 10 years. Got a new pair. Still using old faithfulls.

Peacock hand warmer. Sloe gin.

I bought a pair of Dents silk lined leather shooting gloves last year and have been very pleased with them. Not cheap c £70 but excellent quality and pretty warm even when wet. See farlows.co.uk for details, although these can be found in many good shooting grounds or purchased direct from Dents.

I second this my father got me a pair 10 years ago twice a year I put them on and give them a liberal dose of neetsfoot oil they are as good as new used all winter for clay shooting and deer stalking

Thanks for all of the suggestions, even the ones indicating that all shooters who wear gloves are gay! (Ed & Nic)

I have purchased a pair of Dents!

Hate gloves they are rubbish for shooting in, and anyway if its that cold that you need them you should be at home cooking or something.

That reminds me i have to go check on my Mediterranean inspired chorizo casserole.

Oops thread drift. Oh well never mind its done now.

For me its not the cold,  its the  pain caused by wind  /  light touch on the back of the fingers

Gloves prevent it, simple

If you really don't fancy Macwets, you could try these. They will definitely keep your hands warm and save you a fortune on cartridges.

I used to wonder about people that seemed to have to do things the hard way.  I'm over that now as luck would have it.  Content to let them handicap themselves any way they chose.

For me, clothes are just a tool for dealing with the environment.  Gloves included.  But then, I'm a really selfish person and seldom deny myself anything that makes me more comfortable.

I recall seeing Tiger Woods playing some Scottish course in the rain.  Wearing a baseball cap.  Water pouring down his neck into his jacket.  Totally ripped out of his game by nothing more than not using a proper tool.  And the Euro guys, big floppy hats, just cruising along not even bothered.  I was amazed that a guy playing at his level didn't have sense enough to get out of the rain.

I bet its windy around the nether regions wearing that silly pink skirt.

Are you a TRAP shooter?

Actually I quite like the skirt.

Trap or sporting, i do both :)

The skirt was for a reason, from which i won  :)

The gloves are for a broken neck and nerve damage,

Bought my MacWets on Sunday and will try them out in colder weather. I have only been shooting since last November and really struggled in cold winds due to broken / arthritic fingers. In my book, any item of clothing that puts you back into a normal 'zone' has to be a good thing.

I have struggled to buy gloves that fit me well for years ( very small hands ) and then I found macwets. I generally only wear them in wet weather for better grip they do not however keep your hands dry. They are not particularly warm in cold conditions but I have a warm pair of gloves that I slip on over them in between stands. I like the idea of wearing a thin medical glove underneath and will try this the next time there is a need to wear them. I am quite happy with these gloves on the whole because they actually fit me.

Tried everything over the years...MacWets for me when it is cold and i am with a gun or on a horse.

Leather is nice and warm but sh*t when wet if you take them off. MacWets dry on you.

Mind you I am not a pooooof..!
when i first read this i thought you said "when iam with a gun on a horse" i had visions of john wayne in true grit with the reins in his teeth.
