or perhaps it's because we each know the other is armed ?
Never ceases to amaze me the stick some guys give some lasses on a shooting ground. It may be 'fluffy rabbits' but that's a woman you're messing with and she's got a loaded gun!

There are parts of the universe you don't mess with ............... in my book that's one of them!

:) :)

I think that someone once said...."25% of all women are on medication for a mental condition,so that means that 75% of them are running about untreated!". I didn't say it , so please don't blame me for it!  :D

We'd never use something so obvious, revenge is best served cold

Yes it does tell me something...it tells me that the moderator of the SCTA Facebook page is a namby pamby, fog knitter somewhat like you!!!
Well I'd rather be civil than rude like you and if you call that namby pamby then so be it.

This is supposed to be a sport and a hobby and therefore fun.  Its not necessary to be so confrontational and objectionable on a site like this!

I like the site,

and yes it has become noticably quieter over the last six month's  with many regulars not posting , which is a shame.

Facepalm?,  whilst being the ""in"" social media site, is disjointed and very insular.

Where is the facebook site that everyone has supposedly gone to?

Last time i looked there were loads of individual sites, but not one central resource, as we have here

Here, i log on,  check , post what i need and leave if i want .

Faceplant on the other hand, requires me to share all my data,  rate everything, link it with some snapagram, and selfie some picture of my breakfast,

because i can get poked, digged or reditbrekked. (or whatever it is .)

if you leave them, they will come

:santa:

I don't think your 'namby pamby' because your civil, far from it, I think your 'namby pamby' because you interpreted what I say as "confrontational" and "objectionable"...don't get me wrong, I can do 'confrontational' and 'objectionable', but when I do its on a whole different level than what you are so easily offended by!!!

Disclaimer- No testosterone or one-upmanship was used to type this post, no malice or boasting was intended, just pointing out that there is a world of difference between what offends a fog knitting retired bean counter and someone who is used to more 'industrial' patter (patter is a Scottish word, feel free to look it up). Remember, some written context gets lost in translation between West of Scotland and South of England...

To be fair to James, he's not the only one on here who can be "confrontational and objectionable" (and I can include myself in that statement).

However, the boast that one can be more "confrontational and objectionable" than anyone can imagine, is just about typical of the Testosterone driven one-upmanship that blights this site.

Personally, I've seen so many contributors trying to help a novice with a query only to be totally discredited by some Neanderthal, arrogant and ill-informed monster. It's no wonder they are reluctant to make any further contribution. Stangely enough, most people don't want to have confrontation and are able to walk away without needing to have the last word.

My main concern is the number of nice people that have come and gone, but also the number of Women and Youngsters who have joined and been scared off. I know we have some lovely Ladies on here, but I wonder how much longer they will tolerate the actions of a few. Just remember, when you post on here you are not talking to just one person, you are putting it out for all to see, and quite frankly, some of it is disgraceful.

The site has lost some wonderful resources in terms of former contributers who have been hounded out, and until people of that calibre return, or the existing members start to post again, things will stay the same.

Losing Nic was a great loss to the debate on this site. I had a few disagreements with her, which I regret because her knowledge was tremendous and I really did not have the right to. I really wish she would return and wonder why she actually left? On reflection though being one of the few women on the forum and probably having more experience than most of the other members she got too much stick from others for this.

How ironic that you are an active contributor to this forum ....... the very definition of a social media platform! :)

Considering that the outside world sees shotgun owners as posh neanderthal types this forum is spectacularly restrained! Even at the height of some of the bitching that went on last year you guys ( and gals ) have never come close to the pure hatred, bigotry, bias and intolerance that I have witnessed on forums about flying, sailing and motor vehicles.

Bunch of amateurs the lot of ya!

Perhaps that says something about the membership, we are well balanced individuals except when it comes to choke, cartridge or gun selections!

:)
sorry i was under the impression that this was a forum for discussion not a messaging service...i must remember to send all my communication via Shootclay in future

I love James to bits. He's just so funny, that deep buried humor, and none of you lot seem to get it.

That post he did on the shagging foxes in the barn was just the best, I tried to find it and put it on here but could not find it.

Or I've got him completely wrong. I choose to think I've got him right.

He wont rise to a witch hunt so don't bother with that.

To be honest, as an early adopter of social media I can see that it has had/ is having its day in current form..Facebook/Twitter/what's app/ etc was good for a bit but there is so much complete bollocks on there now life is to short, the way for sites like this to survive is to feel less Facebook, not more... That's the future for social media

As a new shooter its an enormously valuable resource but sometimes honest questions get sidetracked with cliquey bullsh*t and that stops new people using and the site doesn't evolve, gets stale and people leave ..

The reason the visit count is so high is that there is some really good content on here, Matt the true measure should be new sign ups..

The boy fox was shagging the girl fox...the farmer got his gun, then they died, the end.

I remember reading that story and remain as shocked today as when I read it first. Not because I'm some sort of tree hugger (or is that a fog knitter?) and thought it cruel, although he could have waited until they had finished, or at least got the cigarette alight.

No, I'm afraid the most shocking element of all this is that surely the opportunity for getting the two with one shot was clearly on. To find a Scotsman, and by all accounts, Scots through and through, using two shots when he could have got away with one, is truly shocking.

You sure you've not got just a little bit English blood in you James?  :cat: :cat:
