Has anybody seen a list of the Southdown Grand Masters Prizes an winners?

Supposed to be 30,000 pounds worth.

They listed  A to 6th and B/C to 10th yet they said i was out of the money fine as i wasn't expecting anything for 10th but why list it then.

The thing is i have requested a list of prize winners and they are not forthcoming, surely there should be an open list for all to see why would they want to hide it?

The cynic in me says they didn't make as much as they thought they would and they aren't paying it all out!

I heard rumoured that the payout in the Clubman Class wasn't what was expected.

Think i may have touched a nerve "hate to disappoint you but as you are so keen to see who beat you how could I possibly resist ..... would you also like a full breakdown of the cost to us to put on a Competition for your hobby to enjoy ?????"

So it becomes obvious that they are not paying out the stated prize fund, will be lucky if they paid out half!

At least we know what they pay for the shells trade  . Really though, not good enough, if a competitor asks to see a breakdown then the ground has to respond with figures not clever insults.

And the latest! i am really struggling to believe that a business would respond in such a way to a paying customer

My hobby and i enjoy it yes....maybe your forgetting that i paid for it?

Hi Gun was £7k rrp Zoli . Have some cream with you r sour grapes mate ..

Every time a business upsets a customer it's the business that loses.

That customer won't be keen to go back, the people he tells won't be keen to go there, and the friends he takes with him may well end up being taken elsewhere.

If that customer is then given the run-around, insulted, blanked, or in any way treated badly, then it simply gets worse.

This isn't a tale that can possibly reflect well on the ground!

By the way, if you won this competition, and you won the £7k rrp Zoli, and for some unimaginable reason you didn't actually want that particular gun because the one you already have has just won you this competition, what would you end up with?

Have you got 'History' with Southdown?

Not until now,i did voice my disappointment that when our squad shot the Valley on Sunday we had 60+ no birds and lots of button problems/birds not released.

I spoke to someone at the end of the Valley on the day didn't get his name but smartly dressed in Southdown branded attire "management looking" i stated that it was really unacceptable to have these issues at this level of competition,he asked me which stands and when i replied nearly all he just walked off without comment.

One of our squad was pretty upset as he had problems on all of the last 7 stands.

It seems that they don't think they have to live up to their statements and the expectations they create!

How can you advertise a 30,000 prize pot and pay out half.

I suspect that the window of opportunity for "putting it right" and for "clarifying a misunderstanding" is closing rapidly.

Was there any small print at the bottom of the advert, Schmokinn, you know - where there's an asterisk and down below it says "Prize fund may or may not be paid out according to number of entries or at the whim of the promoter" - that sort of thing?

Not looking to put it right as we can tell by Greg Swanns' attitude in the conversation that he obviously isn't bothered, problem is if you poke me its a bit like a bees nest.

http://southdowngunclub.co.uk/competition-shooting/grand-master-2017/ no caveats,asterisks or suchlike.

The thing is our squad was very disappointed with the first half of the day on the Valley course, this was ignored by some and denied by others...really going to make things worse!

Then when you ask perfectly reasonable questions you get more attitude and insults rather than attempting an explanation of the possible issues rather than exacerbating the situation.

If i f*** up i hold my hands up and say i did,do what i need to do to put it right if i can, take the stick i deserve and move on...you get more respect for that than firing of BS and insults.

I seem to recall another case a while back when there was lack of transparency and clarity with prizes, if memory serves it took a few days before we had an appropriate response.

Guess you have a problem reading as it clearly as it states 10th place and it wasn't about me it was about the total prize fund and the failure to pay out,i think everybody but you understood that fairly clearly.

Never complained about the price very reasonable, what i complained about was the product/service received...maybe if you get crap for your money your happy with it,personally i don't accept sh*t quietly.

The American could have equally have been Scottish or any nationality if they were accusing me of saying something i didn't do and with a little effort you would find he seems to generate the same issues elsewhere.

Have lovely day James.

Darkside said .;   I take it you are Mark Taylor, 12th in c class , if they paid out to 10th place...then that will be why they said you were out of the money!?!?

well looking at the results page now, http://southdowngunclub.co.uk/competition-shooting/events-results/results-may-2017/

it says  M Taylor, 10th  in C class, score 138.

So i think you are incorrect there.

The comments about the American  were in response to his comments, not his nationality as such.

and thirdly, i`m glad i go to Horne shoots , not southdown, if that is their attitude to customers, and shooting is not a hobby for most , it is a sport.

£80 entry for a 200 bird competition with good prize money is pretty cheap...what's the big deal, why are you always moaning???

What next? you'll be looking for another American to abuse...

===========================

The way I read it he's requested a list of the winners and there is nothing moanful or odd about that.
