Had a great day at Barrowheath shooting with sponsored Junior Henry Collins my little protege Evie and the quite splendid Jeremy Baker. Cracking course and was extreamally pleased when 96 of the little buggers bumped into my shot. 1st in AA but more importantly only one point in the selection process, long way to go yet so lots of work still to be done. Great shooting from Phillip Thorold who pipped me by one for HG. Henry came second in juniors with 89 and Evie who's only been shooting for 9 months shot a cracking 70. And to top the weekend off Leicester won again ??

My second ever registered 100. Demoralising and humbling. 47 at Weston Wood. Pretty much last.
Don't be too hard on yourself !!

set a target off 50 or above next time and work your way up

you have to work hard at Steves shoots but in the long run it will pay off and make you a far better shooter by doing so

I had a disaster the first time I went there with a low score but that has made me more determined to crack the place.

Ive been mid to high 70s the other three visits, I feel like I'm getting close to putting a half decent score in there before long.

Coleys today for thier 2nd mid week Reg, again Mother Nature played her part, gusty winds the odd heavy shower and sudden dramatic dips in temperature all did for me I'm afraid. I'm used to struggling but couldn't even get a C class shooters start today, it's not often I feel non plussed, today did have me getting splinters in the fingers. Apart from me it was a jolly squad, John the regular scorer at Westfield / Longridge was putting in a tidy score, young filly Zea put both of us to shame, John Hale and Peter Houghton (81) again shot well as did Joe Hale in finding some form.

think Chris Biddlecombe in the 90's was high gun after 2 rotations not sure if that stayed there.

oh well just have to try again at EJC Thursday

It would be nice to see the results from the weekends shooting get uploaded to the CPSA at some point. it does seem like a long time to wait!

Not the best morning at Gunsite today, I just didn't get started and at points I just wanted to walk off.

Great course though, shame I only got 67.

I don't normally get agitated but everything just seemed to get to me today including 2 wallies who were stood right next to me when I was shooting having a very loud conversation.

Anyway I've got a morning with Ed next week with a list of things I want to work on.

But you didn't and that's a credit to you. You stuck at it. We all have off days you hit some very hard stuff today and scores are not on the high side except MM 99 but he has the Angels watching over him. Still he only pipped me by 1 on the pool shoot.

always been a noisy place to shoot people should be more considerate of others.

Enjoy Ed he is the Edmaster.

I'm just a bit disappointed with myself, at times today I just felt stuck and was going through the motions with no thought as to how I was going to shoot particular targets.

Hi bisondan, I had a very similar experience to you at gunsite today, I couldn't string a stand together and the final stand at the far end made a mess of scorecard only hitting 2/8. I began to walk away before I finished but pulled myself together on the final few stands I shot. I didn't even add my score up but I'm guessing I finish on a similar score to you.

i never seem to be able to post a good score at gunsite, unsure why?

Westfield this afternoon. Started off well but then got caught out by a few stands which really did some damage.  Namely the platform stand with the pink looper and incoming rabbit. Managed 2/8.

Ended on 66 which is a new PB for Westfield so I am pleased with that but felt I should have just cleared 70 if it weren't for a few silly mistakes.

I normally shoot quite well there and there was nothing there today that I hadn't seen anywhere before.

Some of it I shot well but when it went bad it went really bad.  The sim pair of crows 3/10 and some of it was just patchy; loss-kill kill-loss then loss-loss etc.

I just wasn't focused and refuse to make any excuses, all my own fault.

I didn't do so well either and I let the fact that a target was taken from me which was clearly hit and witnessed bother me which is no good going into the next stand - didn't realise until I'd left the stand so there it is - 67/100.  Did even worse at Westfield found that tough today - 58/100.  Both good courses, I've got to find a way of dealing with disappointment after I've shot the stand not during it which does for me.
