I started well, with a 7 on stand 1, and finished well.  It was just the middle that was a bit wobbly.  Didn't do as well as I should have on both lots of sim pairs either.

Did the Premier League at Southdown today.

Really well run shoot with 18-stands which was totally new to me with everything being 2 and 3-pair which to a certain extent undid me, but I was put out of comfort zone and still put in a 78 which is an A-class score.

I found it difficult to get in to a good rhythm and just felt a bit more pressure to put a score in each stand, this showed with my inconsistency when I smoked the first three then missed the next three on one stand then on another went kill-loss, loss-kill, then kill-loss.

Same here 2 pairs and 3 pairs make you work.  No wiggle room to understand what your doing wrong and get it right.  I was happy with 78 as well although I kicked myself a few times missing the last bird on a few stands and really need to watch some targets like the sim teal where I should have shot the orange on the way down  - another lesson learned.  Good day.

shot Horne as well and got pipped to the post by Jane by one target finished on 75.

Weston Wood today... Was lovely , mostly quiet and full of bluebells.

Decent round of clays, my shooting was a bit sloppy again - 74ex100... Needed a little bit more focus to break my 80 target.

Cluny Clays, ten stands of ten, 10-8-10-8-4(?)-9-8-9-9-7...sloppy mistakes on the 8's and 9's, the 7 was a tough 2'nd bird and the 4 was a total miss read of the 2nd bird, over leading it when it needed nothing and a miss of the first bourn out of frustration. 4th 82 of the season, very frustrating, not good enough!!!

I just couldn't get settled yesterday Sian.  I'd done some work with Ed about slowing my routine down which was working a treat until yesterday when I just felt mentally rushed with so many stands and so few pairs on each one.

I was a bit silly really as I had a great practice at Churchills on Saturday but I should have shot some of that as 2 & 3 pair.

All done now though and looking forward to AGL Saturday then Southdown on Monday.

It rattled me a bit at first, then had to calm down otherwise it would have been a total disaster.  Yes going to AGL on Friday with Jane and Southdown on Monday probably.

Purbeck today, 100 bird registered ESP.

The weather was absolutely fine before we started , a nice crisp day with clouds and blue sky and all that just up to the point where we headed off to the first stand.

I approached this shoot with happy confidence, having made good progress in practice recently. Total confidence in my F3, in its fit, and generally in my ability to wield it reasonably well.

The second bird on the first stand was a perfectly easy right to left crosser with a bit of a loop, and I simply failed to connect with it.

The third stand was a simultaneous pair of blaze crossers, not fast, not distant. Blanked!

And so it went on. Birds that I would normally simply blot out were sailing away unscathed, stuff that I greeted with the thought "oh good, this one is easy peasy" I simply couldn't hit. I forgot, or didn't recognise, or couldn't read, lead or allowance. I was completely misreading stuff, way behind, way off, it just got worse.

By now it was tipping it down, a bitter cold rain that brought forth good natured cursing from the rest of the squad, to the point where we agreed on s swear box for the ref next month - we reckon another three months and he'll be able to retire.

But the rest of the squad all did loads better than me, I was, to put it bluntly, simply pathetic.

Today wasn't a good one in terms of scores or averages, but it was good to get out and shoot. It always is!

I never ever look at a target and think it's easy peasy, I've done that before and it's cost me.  Treat every target as it's the last on the stand.

Shot barrow today, lovely weather for it. Great targets as well, had a real mare on a l-r simo pair which were very deceptive, and struggled with another simo pair down the bottom.

But came away with a 55, which is pleasing as if I was cpsa regsitered my scores would be so consistent I just need to find an extra yard to get me to the 60 mark and push on from there, new gun in a couple of weeks so hopefully that will help

Ventured up to Oakedge for the first time today. Had a couple of sticky stands but finished up on 72/100 so quite pleased. One clay off the money.

Shot at Bowcombe on the Isle of Wight today, fantastic weather and nice layout to match. All going well until the last stand, I was on 78 as I approached, thinking might finish strongly today........that was just before I saw a pair!!  Fast quartering away birds, shot like a complete idiot and bagged myself 2 ending on 80. Gutted wasn't even coming close to describe how I felt!!!!

But hey, it's only for fun....isn't it? :???:

21st Anniversary   and Kent title  :)  .
Congratulations on both x

Shot the Westfield Fitasc today, 150 targets which I thoroughly enjoyed with a lovely squad, a slight wind at times but lovely weather overall and the rain kept away.  Well done Steve Lovatt for the course and Ally for the all the rest of the work we don't see and scores up already.  Managed 90/150 which I was pleased with as there were some Devils out there.

Southdown this morning in the drizzle and fog. 76 not the best I've done .... but not the worst. Seemed to be ticking along quite nicely, busy but not packed as it is sometimes.

0 no birds and a good selection of targets over 13 stands which included 3 rabbits, a driven, couple of sim pairs and clever use of midi's to throw the unwary off.

Was going to hammer up to Horne but decided to have a relaxing afternoon in front of a PC screen instead. Silly me!

Southdown and Horne today, the former excellent layout I thought, perfect mix of distance, medium and close, good speeds, the odd nasty combo and 13 stands kept waiting to almost nothing, drizzle and heavy mist made it slightly harder, only gripe is the entries seem to be creeping up again   at £41. Horne was fairly quiet when I got there, in fairness not the same league target wise but try shooting a big score even there, a few fast/clever enough to throw anyone.
