Enjoyed my weekend shooting.  If scores are up to date, I came 4th in Ladies at Jack Pyke which as Dan said was better than the Premier League shoot they held and bonus got all my driven.  Then after such a long day on Saturday got up early to get to Southdown for Sportrap and felt like a bag of poo, not enough sleep which for me means mega headache.  Took pills and soldiered on to enjoy testing Sportrap and Sporting, at a massive breakfast in between those two and came away with South of England Sporting Lady and South East of England Sportrap Lady.
Well done Sian, when I saw you yesterday and you said about the Sporttrap I thought you'd shot bad, well done mate, pleased for you.  ?

Personally I had my best round on sporting for ages so was fairly pleased.  Straightened 2 stands, was one away on another 5 or 6 but fell apart on the orange coming in and the rabbit going away (stand 11 I think). I had soooo many no birds on the rabbits I lost concentration and came away with a 3/8.

I now know what I have to work on, on the stands where I was 1 away, it was the last pair that I dropped one of.  Thinking back I got to last pair and said to myself that if I get this pair I've got another straight then went onto miss one of them ?

Over all, I thought it was a good shoot, variety of targets and quite tough, but thoroughly enjoyed it.  Good to see so many Ladies out shooting too.

Thank you.  I felt I had let myself down really badly on the last two layouts of the sportrap but actually when I look at it they were not easy as I was shooting with Jamie Brightman and took comfort that he missed some.  I enjoy the sporting as well - you can see where I went wrong - stand 3 went in afterwards and found it!!!!  Stand 8 started okay and then lost the bloody plot - just timing ugh.  Stand 6 could not see the first bird clearly and took me two goes to realise I should just leave it a bit longer and see it against the green - tw*t.  Enjoyable day though.

Re: Widdington on Sunday - seems if you were still there you were offered to shoot the missing pair otherwise they just added 2 to your score. Surely the logical way would be to post all scores showing how many targets you actually shot at and calculate the percentage? It's no issue for me as I shot so bad and B/O anyway - but a lot of uncertainty relating to class results it would seem.

Technically, they should have just made it out of 98 for everybody, ignoring last pair for those that shot 5 pairs. But 100 seems a nice round number..

That would be too much like common sense and why not just leave it as 4 pairs once you realised the mistake? Anyway they have now corrected mine to ex98 after I was one of 3 who missed out on the 2 bonus hits. Looks like I am the only one. Interesting to see that CPSA score ordering only goes on total hits not as a percentage based on hits/targets.

Didn't they do this at 4 CTC the other week...heat affecting course setters brains.

Don't think i have heard if it before in all the time i have been shooting.

Bisley cocked up at their last prem league shoot. It was scored from 98.

College Farm yesterday. Very good targets. Plenty of long stuff. Misread one stand badly and missed 4/8 which hurt my card, but really enjoyed it and rescued 88. Not sure there's much more than a 93 out there. Runs today and tomorrow so will wait to see..

I thoroughly enjoyed the College Farm shoot today.  Sam Usher finished on a 93 losing 3 on the last stand.

I gather you ladies all shot well! Last stand the one with screaming long rising r-l  and long low l-r battue?
We didn't do badly Lorrayne 84, me 83 and Jane 70 something, I can't remember.  I liked the last stand , missed the first bird out and two battue - in the middle I'm blaming one blurry eye and the tree/bush for the other ?.

Thankfully FITASC isn't discussed here. I'm hopefully coming back to the comforting arms of sporting tomorrow at EJC.
For a bloke that's getting wed this weekend you ought to be seeking a different sort of comforting arms ?

Owls today, quite a well thought out challenge, will admit I did find some of the colours a tad difficult to pick out, made quite a few errors, place has ripped me a new one numerous times but the mistakes today were fewer than before, a 67 (C class) which generally I'm comfortable with, think Pete Houghton took high gun 93 and there were a fair few superstars there today

Nor was last Sunday's grange farm. ????
You're not wrong there. Was a very clever set of clays at Grange. They all seemed simple enough but caught you out.

Do you know if they have practice on the course the week after for example?

I'd of loved to have had another go but head wasn't in it as was rushing to hit shoot number two.

A nice Friday morning out shooting and the first time I have shot two registereds on the same day. Started early at AGL and wrecked my card on stand 6 with the loopers and stand 8 missed all the driven. Finished on 83 which is a big improvement from last Sunday at Widdington.

Then drove over to Churchills and seemed to either straight a stand or drop two random birds. Only stand I shot really badly was stand 7 which was just a poor rabbit target already running in long grass but would then randomly just stop dead as it hit longer grass or creep up the bank and do the same. Tried to shoot it earlier but it was bouncing out of the trap. Missed all the rabbits and then the last crosser out of frustration for a 3. I feel the ref on stand 7 will be getting a lot of grief today. Finished on 81 so happy enough with two scores in the 80’s.

Tomorrow morning shooting the Beretta Worlds.
