If you lot daaahn sarf are ever up this way then I can reccomend Old Glossop for a round of sporting. Very picturesque ground on the edge of the peak district with some 'different' targets shot on the side of a steep slope.
It's a ground that I've heard good things about!

It's been a while since we spoke last, I've just seen your new (12+ months ago!) role. Congrats  :)

Churchill's 100 ESP reg today 😊 , I'd say a medium hard round which shot harder than it looked with stands 1 & 2 featuring very close targets (lots missing the second 10 yard rabbits), there were three or four stands you'd have done really well to straight. I most definitely left a good half dozen out there for 82.

Don't have to go up Norf for different targets.

Ashley Clay shoot in Devon has some great target presentations many very different to elsewhere due to its massively differing topography within a very small footprint...i wish it were closer i would shoot it every month!!

EJC for me. I thought it was a very different round, I gather GD directing the course. Some longer stuff and some very technical stuff, including a 15 yard low battue, which came out showing some face and then turned edge on. Hit last three of those well. Deceptive. I missed 13 on stands that really didn’t look hard and was fine on the harder looking stuff, so very frustrated to finish on 81.

Just back from EJC also. I could not find a straight for love nor money today. Stuff I was shooting well I ended up dropping a silly 1 or 2. Did not hit one of the pink chondelles on 7. Ended up on 74.

I hit the first battue then missed 3. They seemed to turn quicker and I pulled my hold point back which just made me rush it even more.

I missed 6 on the platform sim pair! Had to add lead and hit last pair. That didn’t leave me in best frame of mind..

Pink Chondell on 7 needed very little lead, I missed two, plus two of the midi teal, that was a bad stand..

A frustrating one was the second target on stand 10? Close floppy l-r followed by delay for the higher r-l. Hit last one, again by adding lead.

I missed 4 but was pair killed pair missed repeat. When I hit them seemed like I was almost shooting straight at them. The timing made you think on that pair as pink was dropping fast. I was tempted to take it first quick but bottled it ..

Sounds about right on that pink chondelle as I kept adding more. Deceiving angle.

On 10 I missed just one and it was the late R-L 2nd bird. Found it hard to pick up consistently through the tree.

It was a technical course on the whole but I beat myself mentally thinking I should straight this stand....

Off to WLSS on Sat. Hoping the early start means not too much queueing.

Where was the 15 yard low battue Will?

Was funny to get to the clubhouse and see my name with a 94 by it, and I hadn't handed my card in yet  .Thought I,d gone into some parallel world! (card 51 and 57 mixed up)

Good shoot.

The stand in the skeet Gary. Orange first bird.

EJC for Tony and I shot in order except for 11 and 12 to avoid waiting.  Tony finished on an 81 missing 3 on stand 11 which was our last stand through Shooting it lazily.    I think I did okay finishing on 76, stand 3 was my big disaster missing 6, just find that presentation tricky.  I missed 3 on stand 1 getting the last of the second birds just timing again.  Stand 2 the rabbits I got my timing right and a straight.  Stand 4 the green devils missed 3 but down in that butt those birds were flying through the long grass for me.  Stand 5 missed the first bird on the last pair thinking about a straight!   Stand 6 I did straight.   Stand 7 missed the first pair then got a pair then miss hit and hit miss.  Stand 8 missed the first bird of the third pair but got the rest.  Stand 9 hit a pair miss a pair hit miss hit miss and get the last pair.  I rushed the second bird but knew I was doing that!!  Stand 10 hit miss hit miss pair pair.  I felt I was jumping the second bird so steadied myself and it worked.  Stand 11 and 12 straights.

Phil Moss ,

It is very tiresome your continuous doubting of my ability .

I have been  employed by many good grounds over many years , perhaps you are too young to remember The Original White Gold Cup that toured Great Britain before having finals at Weston Park . Perhaps you cannot  remember British and English at Shugborough or Doveridge  where along with course setters Brian Goring  and Mick Howells I gave my time and experience gladly without having to blow a bugle .

I reserve the right to comment if competitors don't get value for money and are disadvantaged by poor presentations , and I will repeat  " It should not be hard to get on a radio and have targets reset ."
Yes but the sport has now moved forward to auto traps & your time assisting with moving boxes of clays & boiling the kettle have now surpassed !!!!

Never doubted  but simply asked HOW MANY, WHERE & WHEN ???......Has a raw nerve been been hit !!!

🤡😛🤣

Phil,

I will never argue with an idiot , you have more experience of being idiotic.🤣🤣🤣

Peter,

I simply asked what shoots YOU had set, WHERE they were & WHEN did you set them ???

Its a known fact that anyone who has to result to abuse in a discussion has LOST the plot !!!!

Maybe its time for you to revoke the title of MASTER CLAYBREAKER on you profile & replace with MASTER BULLSH$#er !!!

See ya at the worlds !!!

After a lie in I made use of the early 8.30 start time at WLSS today. Started on stand 3 and dropped 1 on a gimme stand so not the best of starts. Then only had to queue on 2 of 14 stands so got around in 45 mins. Not the most testing of courses it must be said as very little with any pace on it. But was still happy to card a PB of 94 and was HG when I left 🤣

If any of the big names turn up who are not at the Euro Fitasc I think it will be straighted.

Left there about 40 minutes ago. 95 was leading then (Jamie Brightman).  I finished on 83. New PB for me too.

If only I was any good at driven and sim teals it would have been more.
Congrats on the PB. I normally suck at driven and wasn't feeling too confident when I saw 80ft + 100ft but managed to straight that stand. Can't believe they were that high. Maybe started out that high at the trap.

West London for me too. Firstly, I have to say the ground looked fabulous, as good as I’ve seen anywhere.

The course did show that WLSS don’t put on competitions regularly for sure. 14 stands, with almost half of them being “corporate” level easy. But the other half were good, especially long targets coming from the top of banks and the tower targets on the last three stands. Simon, you shot very well and were easily leading A class, so it felt easier to you than it was I suspect.

I also had a good day, setting a new PB with 97 which was leading when I left. Agreed, if it does end up HG then it is helped by some top talent being in Italy. However, some great names were not banging in high scores today. An unusual course, but enjoyed the last half immensely. I missed a simple away on stand 3 which was ridiculous, plus two other decent targets. I had a nerve wracking last stand, knowing I needed a straight for a PB, especially when the last pair threw a no bird..

Well done Will. The scores weren't as high as I was expecting them to be when I got back to the clubhouse either. Only stands I dropped more than a single clay on were 13 (driven only hit one of each) 14 (missed 3 of the l-r off the tower) and the sim teal (hit all the first birds but not a single one on the drop). Was very pleased to straight the stand with the high r-l off the tower.
