I saw the forecast and decided to go shooting yesterday (Sunday,) common sense was never my strong point. The venue of choice was Court Farm.
"Hurricane" Freya was in full force, wind and rain were doing their worst to obscure my vision (violin icon.)
I started about three down on stand one, and things went up and down from then on, with one stand, a long wind blown sim pair going away defeating me fairly decisively, they looked easy but weren't on the day. I finished several points down on my average, no thanks to the sim pair and a few other slip ups. I like to think that the weather was partially responsible, but as they say, the blame lies with the mutt behind the butt.
At the end, as I walked back to the car with rain soaking through my waterproofs I thought yes, I had really enjoyed it despite the weather.
I checked the scores today and this made me feel a little better - the top score was nine points down on the previous shoot at Court Farm, with high scores in the mid 80's, even George D. MBE was well below average. (Has he been away from shooting?)
