Fair comment but we are talking a couple of hundred vs a couple of grand! What does your current stock look like for comparison? Are you not better off putting that money towards a custom stock with better wood than you already have?
All depends if you want something prettier to look at, a tool for a job or both? If just prettier and your current stock fits ok then why not spend £100ish on getting it refurbished and looking like new? I am personally not one who appreciates great wood (oh er) as more to damage & lose money on. That said I do have a DT11 on order and will go over to Beretta in Italy to pick the stock blank and get it shaped to me. Its not a massive cost leap over the RRP for the custom wood (£200) but then you have to factor in the travel costs etc and the new gun its fitted to. Sorry I will shut up as will end up talking you into spening £000's on a new gun rather than just a new stock at this rateFair comment but we are talking a couple of hundred vs a couple of grand!
That's a lot of shells and coaching instead
Would it not make more sense to keep adding or subtracting to/from your existing stock and THEN when you are shooting better, have a new stock made to the already determined dimensions ?May as well make it pretty as at this point I can't get it to hit clays!
The stock I have fits me perfectly, this is not about fit, it's about bling lads!Would it not make more sense to keep adding or subtracting to/from your existing stock and THEN when you are shooting better, have a new stock made to the already determined dimensions ?
So you have spent all your time shooting and loads of money on entry fees and cartridges but at least i will get some money back on my gun is what you are saying !................what about your life and time spent............fook the gun i had a good time, and i will not get back what i paid for it :lol:Couple of hundred quid is pennies if you want it go for it... my only caveat is it anything like a fit? A thousand decent cartridges is more than two hundred quid. I don't know how many times I have said it but guns and stocks are cheap, in terms of residual value, its what comes after that really cost you because you don't get a very good return on empty cases... a nice gun or stock on the other hand will always get you some money back should you need it.
I am simply pointing out the fact that the cost of a gun is probably the least expensive part of your lifetime in shooting ... why not afford yourself something nice Even buying an expensive model at say £15k it is still going to be a lot less than you spent on cartridges, targets and competition fee's over say even a short ten year period. The point I am making is if you like nice things like fancy guns and you can afford it why not have one... whether you can hit a bull on the arse with a banjo or not... you will enjoy it. Certainly at a personal level the day I give a F@@@ about what someone thinks about the way I shoot is the day I would give up shooting. So you have spent all your time shooting and loads of money on entry fees and cartridges but at least i will get some money back on my gun is what you are saying !................what about your life and time spent............fook the gun i had a good time, and i will not get back what i paid for it
Yep.....that sounds like me alright!!!! And do I care? Do I F$$K ! :lol:Wow look at me..........but i am a sh*t shot
Very niceThe stock I have fits me perfectly, this is not about fit, it's about bling lads!
