Also, just had a thought, is it REALLY that wise for some on here to be explaining WHERE they keep their cartridges ?

It ain't that difficult for some people to find out where you live !   :prankster:
Please explain the necessity for such a comment ?

Unnecessarily aggressive mate, but then I've just seen you are a Rangers supporter, so you probably feel the need to make people think you're a tough guy!

Pillock !

There was/is no aggression in my post!?!?

What does me being a Rangers supporter have to do with anything? What are you racist or sectarian? :nea:

You still haven't explained why criminals will be looking up everyones addresses to come and steal a few 1000 clay pigeon cartridges? What use does a criminal have for 1000's of clay pigeon cartridges?

Spineless pillock !

OK - if it amuses you. Obviously showing a bit of concern translates as some kind of weakness in your book -  ooooh you're so butch.

Unfortunately its people like you that puts a lot of people off ever even making a comment on this forum. Just plain unpleasant and unnecessary.

But then I am just a spineless pillock . . . . . . . . . evidently?

So, sorry guys for expressing such a timid and spineless concern. Go ahead and tell everybody just exactly where you keep your cartridges.

Your posts are always aggressive. You just sound like a cock.

There might be such a thing as a dishonest clay shooter you know - it's not beyond the realms of possibility. People steal clays traps all time.

Oh boy oh boy Tiptop....are you going to be in a caravan load of trouble when Phil S sees that....you will be hounded out of shooting forever. (Shivers from iPad)

And if you all believe that you will believe anything.

I am hiding behind the sofa waiting for the reply to you.

P.s. Phil S ....watch out Tiptop is a 'big' bloke....not like us mere women :laughs:
:lolu:   :lolu:   :lolu:

PS - you ladies keep telling us 'size doesn't matter'  :training:

Ok, lets put it this way, what is your concern? I think you are close to paranoia on this issue, clay pigeon cartridges are of no use to anyone other than another clay pigeon shooter, who all have a certificate conditional to them not being a criminal. Your concern that a member of a clay pigeon shooting forum is going to read that a member of said forum keeps 2k of shells in an airing cubord will then track him down, break into his house and rob him of said 2k of shells, that is mildly hysterical at best.

By that logic, why join a forum and  advertise that you have a Guerini Apex in your house? Some junky will already be on his way, armed with an angle grinder to open your cabinet, circumcise the barrels/stock into sawn off to hold up your nearest post offce...not likley is it?

You must have a very weak constitution, I feel sorry for you, no, your correct, it's not beyond the realms of possibillity for a clay shooter to be dishonest-but thats a huge way from burgeling a house, too much to lose...

Sorry mate, but you do come off as a bit of bell-end at times.  When anyone questions a daft point you've made, you lash out. Maybe that's your 'style'...?    :roadrage:

Aye, it has been noticed.

As for Darkside's question: "You still haven't explained why criminals will be looking up everyones addresses to come and steal a few 1000 clay pigeon cartridges? What use does a criminal have for 1000's of clay pigeon cartridges?"

Oh, let me think... "49,000 shotgun cartridges stolen"

Police are appealing for information following a burglary at a gun club in Winchester, Hampshire, where 49,000 shotgun cartridges were stolen.

The burglary took place sometime between 6pm on Thursday 20 September and 10am on Saturday 22 September.

Fair point.

I agree.

Don't worry Paulos is a windup merchant....

ok guys, lets not beat each other up on here, lets save that for CPSA, UKS, BS or any other organisational acronym...

Now come on people.....you have all flown off the deep end.

I am sorry but I have to say that I am with Darky on this one .

He might talk directly but so do I......and I can never understand why some of you take the huff .....when people are allowed their own opinion whether you like it or not.

Gang poster bashing is not good....and the likes to posts that are equally as aggressive are part of the gang bash.

I like Darkside's posts I think he contributes to keeping the forum real....he has put loads of useful information on here as a farmer and deer man.

Lighten up folks......he only speaks his mind just like Ed does or I do.

This is not a tea party or Bisley crochet club.

Why oh why do these discussions always degenerate into name calling? Life is too short.

Anyway, back to the thread.

I've never considered temperature on cartridge performance and store mine on the concrete floor in a garage (not telling where though).

So i'm going to store some in the house until the weekend and shoot both warm and cold cartridges on Sunday to see if I notice any difference in performance, recoil, etc. Not sure how I'm going to keep the warm ones warm thoughout during the day but hey ho?

What this space.

A pesamist might say that screams "insurance job"... 49,000 cartridges takes a lorrie, multiple trips with a van or multiple vans to move, then to sell on, they can't ebay them, they can't sell them down Paddy's market, so it must be a stolen to order job, thats a lot of heavy humping for £9-10k retail value!!! Maybe they were stolen for the scrap lead value? There would be too many questions trying to sell them on, who'd buy them?  Poor security, nobody there on a Friday, 49k shells in one place, stole the trooper too, (probable knackered and thats why the theaf's burned it out) They would need to track down about 25 average clay pigeon shooters to their homes to get that much scrap lead...

I still stand by my opinion that the liklyhood of being tracked down from a "where do you store your cartridges" post on an internet clayshooting forum by some desperate criminal seeking to swag 2k shells on a good day is as remote as winning to lotto jackpot two weeks running...I'll not hold my breath!!!   :spiteful:   :hyper:

I stack my 2k of cartridges at room tempreture, in the corner of a large walk-in cubord next to my skeet vest and range bag... :ninja:  protected by ninja's :ninja:

Think you are correct in most Darkside, there are easy ways  to find out where a shooter stores stuff. Just watch the classifieds, see something and then go and have a look at buying it and then don't bother, you have then got in the house to case it etc see what else is on offer maybe.

On the odd occasion I sold two items I said that anyone wanting to buy the item must bring a passport or shotgun cert for proof of ID and even then it was not to my own house I met them, but a non family member. Over cautious ? Maybe but I did work with Prisoners for 15 years.

My Cartridges are kept inside!!

Anyone is most welcome to try and get them, although my German Shephard may not like you trying.
