Because it would give the Trap shooting fraternity more to worry about, other than the fact that it is a Semi Auto !

Imagine that in the gun rack at Beverley or Bywell, a Remmie auto with a red 'R' on the stock. I would be more welcome at a FITASC in Syria !

I wonder when the dislike of semi autos started, I can remember a lot of winners shooting Remmies in all types of Trap shooting.

Probably back in the days when the concentration was more on your own score than the score of others. I do not recall so many requests for a 'no bird' because of a slow pull or that a cow in the next field had just farted. We simply got on with the job in hand and the Ref's word was FINAL. I can instantly think of one 'modern day' shooter, who in 1 Comp at DTL, claimed no less than THREE no birds. He has now switched disciplines and recently became 'County Champion' from a field of er.............ONE. Enough said.

agree with that one ! any excuse to repeat a target you missed!  it was terrible in FITASC a few years ago,,,since then,,`   if it`s in the air, shoot the thing¬ seems to work,,   otherwise ,,, "lost"    :spiteful:

Some tripe typed here on this subject. We have folk on here who by their own admission have never even fired a RT gun, my bet would be they have probably never even seen one either, but they still post waffle over the subject.

Provided the safety rules are followed, a RT is every bit as safe as a standard trigger set.

As for this top of the mountain, spinning round 180 degrees sporting jobby, I prefer to shoot where the shooting station is nice and flat, and you do not require crampons, rope, carabineers and a helmet to reach the shooting peg. :haha:

Me.
