Having had a few sessions just for fun, I then decided I was going to take it up. Having eventually persuaded my doctor to complete the form I had paid in advance for, I applied for my certificate, and amazingly the process only took about 4-5 weeks over Christmas/New Year 2024. So I think I was lucky to say the least.

I’m now the proud owner of a hat, a bag and a Baretta 686 silver pigeon 1 sporting. Because in life I’ve always been “all the gear and no idea”.

Welcome to the forum.

Similar story here, had a go for a birthday, decided to apply a while later. Sadly still waiting in Hampshire, applied Sept 2023, they're now quoting 12 months in their latest email.

What police force are you?

I was as surprised as anyone. I’m in West Yorkshire.
