223 entries last year (plus some non CPSA I expect). I went later and got round fine as it was well organised. (The EJ Churchill queuing situation was caused by some CPSA problem with computers, causing a start backlog. Should be better this year).
And the breakdown of a trap on the last stand which created a queue of about 50 people! I got  there just as it broke and there were only about 10 ahead of me, by the time I had shot it the line was back to the previous stand.

Not their fault really, sh*t happens. They got a new trap and reproduced the target pretty well but the queue was impressive.:)

There were at least 3 major trap issues I was affected by. One required a new button release to be wired. There was only 1 toilet as well which also causes queues of a different type. A combination of issues mixed with a high turnout. I am sure they will be better prepared this year.

A 6am departure at the weekend may be a step too far.  That's worse than a work day.

I'm likely to be on my own for the first time ever at a Registered shoot, which I'm slightly apprehensive about.  I always shoot with at least two of us and often with a bigger group.
What time are you thinking you will be there as I am probably going around on my own also? I was planning on starting at 08:30 but dont mind holding off til 9ish. I could do the Compak for a warm up.

I was hoping to get there about 8.30ish, but with the roadworks on the A21 at the moment it could well be later.

Have fun .. Wrap up warm as very cold since the sun decided to hide. Tough course and busy even early doors. 12 deep most stands even though 14 of them.

Worst I have shot in a long time and not helped by being frozen for the last few stands. Not even sure what I finished on but it was the wrong side of 50. HG is currently 82.

Got to say that I didn't enjoy that at all, a really stiff course made harder in the wind. I think the course setters were upset by last years feedback that it was too easy- so decided to show us they can set a "real" course....yeah nice one. I hate that type of over correction, its worse than setting it too easy first time around.

It was tough. Darren and I kicked off at around 10:30 and got through the first 4 or 5 stands pretty quickly but then we met the queues. Got to our last stand,9 at 13:00, about 30 people in the queue, finally stepped in to the stand at 13:40. Left the ground at about 14:00. Bloody cold but if we'd finished the round on one of the stands exposed to the wind I'd have had to pack it in and get in a noce warm car.

I started off great but concentration started to go in the cold so the second half of the round was poor. Not sure of my score but given the targets I'd be grateful for a 60. Darren got a very creditable 68. Some of the names in AA class were only scraping the 70's!

I'm not complaining about the difficulty, everyone was shooting the same targets so on balance it's all the same.

328 entries just before the closeout I heard. A busy day.

40 minute wait on Stand 13 to finish.  I was shivering so much I could barely pick the cartridges up out of my pouch.

The cold was no excuse for my performance though.  The targets completely beat me I'm afraid.

I couldn't hit Jack s**t today  As YorkyBrown says bit of over reaction to last years comments.

To me if they were not a sim pair of going away they were technical but at distance.

The score sheet at the end of the day will be interesting to say the least. 86 was leading when i left at about 14.30

Fauldsy just starting and it looked like he drop 4 of the overhead on the first stand???

Thoroughly enjoyed this today, thought it was a brilliant round!

I thought it was a very good technical corse, they were all hittable ( and missable)? I finished on a bad 70 or so I thought until I checked the other scores on the board!! Can't wait for the next one!

Toughest shoot I've encountered so far, really mixed bag for me today as I shot most of the long stuff really really well but once you start getting ones, twos, and threes then it's hits your card but looking at what some of the top guys shot my 61 wasn't bad.

On a normal registered shoot there are normally a couple of stands where you can easily fill your boots but there was no respite today, I just thought there were too many sim-pair stands to.

When a ground is not that experienced at course setting, they can lose the plot with correcting a soft course. It only needs two or three stands changing to sort it. They can get carried away and change ALL the stands, which makes a colossal difference. Hope they get the balance right.
I bloody hate being Mystic Meg. Massive over correction today. It would have been almost OK if you were cold-proof and loved waiting around for 4 hours. I got crushed today, but let about ten go in the last half where I just couldn't overcome coldness and the wish to finish. Very bad result, too embarrassed to say. You'll see it soon enough..

In fairness to WLSS there was some great target setting, so the AAA boys would likely all say it's great. There was no one stand that was stupid hard (a few bordered on it) but as a total course, intended for the whole spectrum of shooters, it was a step too far many would say. I heard a lot of people say it was the toughest thing they had ever shot. As usual many will say it was brilliant, but that level of hardness does not fit with other registered shoots and it certainly doesn't suit a wide audience. I haven't seen the final scores but something like 50% of shooters didn't make 55 I think.

Equally some people really did shine today and credit to them.  Dean Gibbs on 87, incredible. 89 HG I think, from 360 entries.

Well I don't normally like getting beaten up but I really enjoyed today.  Got a little cold waiting and got a big fat zero on the sim pink teal just could not see them against the grey and a one somewhere else ending on a 53.   It's not often I'm happy with just over half marks these days but I was today.  Very happy I only had a five minute journey home as didn't finish until nearly 5pm.

Well shot! I was with a b class mate who hit 42.

It was brilliant, gruelling hard just wore you down. Why put orange and pink clays in that colour sky, just stupid always been a pet hate. Went to AC next door after shot skeet, Compak, and a sort of Compak for 111 ex 125 it was like a walk in the park after shooting that.

No respite just about sums it up, but I really enjoyed it in a perverse sort of way. Shot targets (and missed) at ranges I have not seen before so all good experience even if the score was rather humbling. As it was the same for everyone the overall ranking is of more interest than the actual score. Must remember to take extra choke with me in the bag rather than leaving it in the car!!! That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it. Here's to the next one and hopefully a warmer day.

Good organisation by the ground, with drinks and loos halfway round. Big thanks to the scorers who sat there in the cold - rather them than me. I didn't notice any bad calls either which given the conditions was very credible.
