Just going for a gentle open shoot at Horne. Not too far and it's actually full of edge on quartering fiddly stuff, which is exactly what I need to improve on with the new gun.

Miss them behind. Forend hand towards muzzles. Stand more sideways on when you pull trigger.

Minimal gun movement.

Worth a try.
Yes, I know what you mean. I want to get to the target and see it, so need to alter hold point and speed. Ages ago I went through the rabbit problem, missing in front on swing through, as most do when learning. Started shooting behind them, which worked but offended my sense of order. So, found a new method which gives me feedback.

That's how I shoot rabbits. 12" behind.

It seems ridiculous but works.

If I'm straight at them then I'm in front - heavy gun.

It's a different way to shoot and the target is seen all the time.

All the targets I'm iffy on I try to shoot them behind.

Teal / rabbits / quatering are classics for getting in front off.

I know what you mean when you say sense of order.

It amazes me how it works. To old to learn new tricks.

Good luck tomorrow. I'm off to Westfield.

The sun has been in the same place for a few billion years. Can't blame the sun. The folk that placed the range facing towards the sun however..

Rock and a hard place Will, they have to throw towards that direction due to the layout of the ground so I can't really blame anyone. We all had to shoot the same so fairs fair!

Sorry, attempting to cause mini eclipses uses clays is a pet hate of mine. :)

In a perfect world it would be ideal to have North facing shooting grounds !!!............

Alas, its just not from choice that the direction of fire can be sun effected at this time of year.

Guess it proves that some have no understanding of what goes into setting courses :spiteful:   :spiteful:

EJ Churchill faces almost all South and a few years ago they would set a course that left you with arc-eye. Now, despite the unfortunate position, they put some thought in and it's never an issue.

I shot that as well, from past experience I knew it was going to be an issue so made sure of glasses and a cap which I rather not usually.

I think i see you there but wasn't sure at the pool shoot, I shoot there a fair bit but never experienced the sun sitting so low still was a good day.
