Les you are an experienced trap shooter you must know about the Perazzi effect and on top of it all you have had several before. I felt the Perazzi effect as soon as I shot my current gun. Well done one that straight too the high rib must be making your shooting more comfortable and you are shooting it well....  grrrrrrrreat!

Cheers John, the head up high rib/high comb concept was something which I was always sceptical about! I had to look at it properly due to neck issues and I must say that it seems to be of benefit. Providing one does not try to use it the same as a flat rib gun then I certainly feel that the head up thing is very comfortable and seems to put less strain on the neck muscles. As for Perazzi, this is the first one I've had that has coil springs fitted, so I don't have that nagging worry about a sudden V spring failure, which was always in the back of my mind with all three of the MX8's that I had.

Well Les any spring can fail its in the lap of the metal gods. I know that coils are less likely to give problems and even if the do break can function. I myself have just recently had my first failure on my gun. I have no idea what so ever how old or how many shots had been fired by them but the guy I bought the gun from had not used it for more than ten years. I had shot it for 18 months and about 10-12k shells. I have adopted the attitude that they get changed every season whether they break or not. I  buy mine from an after market producer (£52 inc p&p) who guarantees them for 12 months. That of course does not mean they will not break during that period but if they do you get a replacement set. I get my car serviced every year at silly money why not change the gun hammer springs at a very reasonable cost ? I know people find reasons to dum down the Perazzi trigger but I have seen more guns stop functioning down here that were not Perazzi's namely a Krieghoff and a Browning... they were un-shootable at least a broken Perazzi spring is an easy repair... literally two minutes. You know what was really weird though when my first spring broke? It broke one the last target of the round.. I did not even know it had gone! I found out when another Perazzi shooter asked to shoot 5 targets with it. He opened the gun and put the carts in called the target and nearly fell on his face when the gun did not fire :) opened  and closed again to try it once more same result ! We then sussed the spring had gone! I replaced it and he shot it ... very well too even though the stock was slightly too long for him.

Perhaps you were a Giraffe in a previous life, must be the only gun where the 'pitch' is measured in METRES ! But, as long as it works, stick with it and good shooting.

Cheers Wes!  :D  I guess ips will be showing us his new toy pretty soon too.

I gotta tell ya, Les that I think those guns are totally trick and gave some serious thot to getting one.  I just didn't think I was safe with that many adjusto parts to play with hahaha   Good to hear that you're down with the coil triggers.  Personally I can't tell the difference and I'd bet vital body parts that no one else can either.  Springs have never been an issue or concern for me since I'm such an insensitive clot and just muddle thru.

good going on that straight - too bad you had to resort to a Perazzi but we all have our limitations
