Macwets all year round - wish they lasted longer though, currently getting through 4 pairs a year :(
I don't wear them for warmth though - If I touch blued steel, it's rusting within half an hour :(
Wow! Toxic sweat, only commenting on this because I have a gun that hates sweat, but on the non blued bits.

I consider this my only super power - plus the ability to leak unattractively when I get on a difficult stand :(

Try the Gun Glove company, you can find them on line. Good gloves with a made to measure fit. Direct from the USA and they get delivererd within days.

Footjoy raingrips, pretty much the same material as macwets but 1/3 of the price and FJ wintersofs for when its chilly. also a pair of footjoy mittens over the top between stands if its real brass monkeys :D

GripSwell gloves for me - they have suede palms made differently for each glove as you do different things with each hand in shooting. They are also thin enough not to need a trigger finger cut for when you're actually shooting. Can also be worn in the summer, but if you're shooting in the rain then the dye (in my case tan colour) will run and colour your hands a little.

MacWets for me for all my shooting and beating ! Very comfy, very grippy, very warm and wind proof, but yes they arnt waterproof! How ever when wet my hands are still warm in them ! Mine have lasted 2 years now and am very happy with them ! But it sounds like others wouldnt agree. But speak as you find....I really rate mine.

Just keep your hands in your pocket till the last minute, then shoot em quick before re-inserting hands into said pocket. :)

Following this thread I bought a pair of Macwets today. Great for shooting in, I didn't notice I was wearing them. It was nearly ninety minutes of continuous exposure before my hands got too cold to function. I could have done with a hand warmer as well I guess.

If you are out in very cold weather all day it is difficult to keep fingers warm in gloves that you can also shoot well in.....especially when game shooting (like yesterday when the action an barrels were like a freezer).

I use two sets of gloves. My mesh backed MacWet for the drive and after the drive has finishes I put back on my fur lined leather gloves (that you could go to the Arctic with). That way I am warm all day. Interestingly my thinner MacWets warm up far quicker than any other when you put your hand in the warming pockets on a game coat whilst waiting.......just saying :)

So what your saying Nicola is that body heat goes through those gloves faster than other's? :)

Nope sweetie. What i am saying is that I use a light weight summer glove so that I can feel the trigger exactly as i want to. You can feel any glove getting colder if you are holding any metal parts that are already super cold. But the opposite is that thin gloves warm up very quickly when you stick your hand in the pocket whilst waiting. Of course when I am actually shooting I don't feel the cold. Then at the end I but the dogs bollocks of gloves on if i have felt cold.

I have tried many gloves and many combos over the years and find that this works better for me.

Can i also note that I have no connection at all to MacWet gloves so it does not matter a hoot to me if people like them or not.....i am simply giving my opinion......and peeps....you can do with that whatever you want......it matters not to me ....only trying to be helpful ;)

p.s. Some of those out there yesterday did not wear gloves at all.....they dip their hands in the very cold water at the begining of the day....dry them off....and lets the body takes care of the rest. Several farmers do that.

Hey Darkside, what do you do? I bet you do not milk the cows in gloves do you?

Hi Nicola, I now wear long cuff surgical type gloves to milk the cows, more for the cows benifit than mine to start with (mastitis causing bacteria can live on your skin and can cause the spread of mastitis through a dairy heard), I no longer suffer from hacks or smelly "farmers hands". I usually wash my hands at the end of each milking with gloves on in the parlor with iodean teat spray, towel dry them, peal them off and stick a glove in each pocket, I can either use them again next milking or if I have a dirty/smelly job, pop them back on. My wife loves me not having rough skin all over my hands now :)
