No issues with cartridge belts, a good spot for non toxic cartridges to separate them from others.question
on live peg gun loaded but safety on, butt on hip barrells pointing up. Is that ok cos that's what I did and nothing was said (I hate to break any rules on etiquette)
is it ok / better to peg my dog a few yards back from me or is the gunshot louder there than at heel, she seemed perfectly happy if a little confused as not been THAT close to me shooting before.
is wearing a cartridge belt the done thing at Pheasant shoot or will I just look like an arse
Yeah, and you do not get the chance to shout 'PAUL' either !catching shells, jeez your right never thought of that. Plus will have to remember not to move pegs after each shot, that could be really embarrassing
paulWTF have I done? I was only reading the posts!!
You must be jokeing? if not I'd recommend you ask the shoot owner or captain first.Auto's are fine if they are camouflaged, black one's are a big no no.
Black ones are fine as long as they're Section 1 and hold up to 10 shells so you can have a go at the next pegs wounded birds. You must be jokeing? if not I'd recommend you ask the shoot owner or captain first.
I still say for anyone who's not sure. If you are invited to a pheasant shoot ask if an auto is acceptable,on all the organized pheasant shoots i've know over the last 16yrs autos what ever colour have been a big no no. I've only ever seen them used on beaters days and then only buy game keepers. I'm only saying better to ask than be sent home.Black ones are fine as long as they're Section 1 and hold up to 10 shells so you can have a go at the next pegs wounded birds.
While the black 10 shot is almost de rigueur on the grouse moor and early season partridge. Its still frowned upon with pheasants.Black ones are fine as long as they're Section 1 and hold up to 10 shells so you can have a go at the next pegs wounded birds.
