Very tempted to get involved in this little discussion but having to bite my tong a bit. What I would say is that we will never see the like of George again in our lifetime. Instead of spending thousands of pounds on lessons I would suggest going and watching George perform on a big shoot and see how he goes about his business. The effort he puts in, the desire and will to win he still has, is incredible. He deserves everything he gets.

One of the greatest British sportsmen of all time ( shame I'm irish .) but shame a lot of the British public wouldn't even know who he is ( believe me if he was irish every one in ireland would know his name and drink to him) yes the shooting Community should push for him to get the recognition he deserves A great ambassador for shooting and a great personality as well, but forget the knighthood make him king long live king George
Not to dis Sir George (future) but it's been my experience that the Irish will drink to anything

just saying .............

How does it work, is it political or do the Royals decide, in any case from across the Irish sea I would think with Conservatives in power (landowners/Shooting people)

and the Royal family (landowners/Shooting people) that now is a good time to start the campaign in motion.

George is not just a fantastic shot but an Englishman that other nationalities admire.

Is that not unique enough. Ha

Hope it happens.

Steve ( Lead Belly) very well said, spoken like a gentleman and a bloody good sport.

For any pretenders to his throne you will be pleased to know he has no plans to retire in the future, because even though very tired after a hectic year he is looking forward to the new Game season, and the chance to recharge his batteries, enjoying days in the Field with friends.

 More power to his elbow.

Thank you Steve for your comment.

I agree although I stalk him at all kinds of shoots, I like to watch him shoot at the smaller shoots as well.

If "Bonio" of the "band" U2 is worthy of an honoury knighthood (Irishman). GD most certainly is.

Correct.

All rockers know that.

Not sure about milkmen though

Darky...Dublin is Southern Ireland you numptie...and therefore NOT British.

Jeeeeeeze..!

He would make trouble in an empty milking parlour..!!

.....just saying..!

If I'm missing something, maybe you can elaborate?
Are some not fully aware of his acheivements in helping others & the tireless charity work that obviously some are totally unaware of ??

I understand but thats best left to the 'old firm'.
It's not an 'old firm' thing, it's an Irish thing...one of my grandfathers was from Letterkenny, which if you know your Irish geography, is in the North, but in the South, you could argue with him all day day he has Irish, he'd just say "I'm an Ulster man and I'm British!"

Being 'British' is not just about where you were born...ask the Falkland islanders!!!

Will some one please tell Scotty that Dublin is in the south and therefore not part of the British Isles.......

I am obviously in ninja mode and the milkman cannot see my comment through the teats..

getting back to Sir George he should also get the BBC Sports Personality of the Year!
