Cheers Jim. We did that one last time we were up this way. Decided to go for Sporting Targets today instead. Bit sweaty out there in the full sun.  Another ground I really like. Only minor criticism is the height of the front bars in the cages. Arms were aching by the end. 85 from 106.

Lovely day shooting FSP at Weston today. Hot and sunny too. It has a certain feel due to the trees everywhere, but some great targets. Did my usual thing where I start not too well, then remember how to shoot FSP and ended well. So tiring though, my eyes and brain are fried.

HOT HOT HOT at Owls Lodge today.  Really enjoyable shoot which I felt I shot well - 83/100.  Ate a healthy M &S salad pot and drank plenty of water before and during which meant I was alert and my eyes were good.  Also have raised my stock as I have been feeling it needed it for a while and now at 13mm and I like it very much.  Good few straight stands and hitting some driven and teal  today.  I am so hoping I am coming out of my dip.

Brilliant Sian. I started the day feeling tired and bothered after a very hot intense FITASC at Weston yesterday, (which went well) where I now reckon I dehydrated. Was way off form today and shot poorly on many stands, bad score. I've drunk gallons this afternoon and am starting to feel better and hope to be on form at AGL tomorrow. I'll take a lot of water! Summer took me by surprise..

Even though I am on holiday I can't help but miss the competition shooting. That said I would not want to be shooting clays out here in Arizona though - 42c yesterday.

Back home next friday and hoping to shoot the registered on Horne on the Sunday if the jet lag is not too bad.

Good luck Simon. Jet lag seems to make my barrels bend randomly. But you're younger..

Tough day at AGL today. Big entry. Won on 95, Dean Gibbs, which was amazing IMO. Ben H 93, nobody else in the 90's. In fact only 3 people beat 86.

My card died horribly with 16 away over three stands! Scraped an 80, but it felt particularly painful dropping 7 on my last stand, which NOBODY straighted all day. As is so often the case, a course that could have produced a huge amount of happiness for so many people if just two or three stands had been more reasonable.

Sounds like I should be relieved that we headed back from the Midlands yesterday evening, which meant I couldn't get to this one.

I was down in Devon/Cornwall for the weekend and managed to find a registered shoot on the Sunday. The grounds called 'High View Clay Shoot' and it's a lovely, pretty ground.

Couple targets that required a bit of lead but the rest very steady. Managed 76/100 which I felt could have been a bit better.

Then on my way home on Monday we stopped off at Longridge where I put in a poor 76/100. I say poor as there was a lot more there for the taking but a combination of rain and being the first on to every stand cost me a few through inexperience. Myers shot it straight which is one hell of an effort, with Phil Smith carding a 99 as well.

That was my last shoot in C class. It's been very good to me this year. Time to knuckle down and get to the same stage in B class ?

Shot catton hall yesterday as my first ever comp. Very hard but allot of fun, I only managed 50 (probably the lowest there) but I really enjoyed myself. 14 stands and everyone was totally different. i struggled on the high tower birds but who hits them all first time round!! I paired up with a B shooter in the car park and he only managed a 62 so I was quite happy with myself. Can't wait until the next one.

Popped down to Horne this morning. First shoot in A Class and have not shot for 4 weeks. Started badly with a 4 on stand 1 and felt the rustiness. Managed to dig in and finish on 81 which is my average and would have taken that score beforehand so happy enough but still can't help but rue the misses especially final bird to straight the last stand.

Stand 11 with the rabbit was annoying. Hit the first and then the rest barely made it to the post and I missed all 3.

An enjoyable morning out in the sunshine.
