Sporting shoots. Where - and how did it go?

I've had a quick chat with them and I think it's going to follow the format of:

The 10 finalists from each class to be broken in to 2 groups of 5. Both groups will shoot the same layout with all shooters presented 12 targets through the layout in a sportrap style. At the end of the second groups shooting the scores will be reviewed and the overall winners across the 10 shooters will be known. In the event of any ties for places, shoot offs will start straight away before the next classification group starts their shoot off.

This has been done due to the larger number of shooters qualifying for the final this year compared to previous years.

Only made it in to B class in the most recent cut off. 

The AA class has some shooting royalty in it; will be worth watching ?

A nice sunny morning at AGL. Hit a 4 on the grouse butt (struggled on the R-L low crosser until I took it later) and dropped another 4 on stand 8 (that edgy midi crosser). Other that was pretty happy and straighted the last 3 stands to end up on 85 which was nice after some of my recent scores. The M1 was a mess on the way home.

AGL was a great course I thought, against a clear blue sky.  Only one or two easy stands with the rest being a decent test, but nothing horrible. Just back off holiday, where I didn’t think about shooting at all, as my last shoot was really bad.. Much better today. 3 silly misses but was leading on 94 when I left. I think there is a 97 for somebody having a good day..

AGL for me too today, loving this weather.  There were two teal out there today, the lower one I hit 2 of the 4, my first stand out.  The higher teal at the bottom missed the first and smashed the rest - after I missed the first one I tried a completely different technique going up the left of it, and then cut across slightly and it worked!  Only one bird drove me insane the stand at the end of the path where the driven were (which I managed well today).  The first on edge target which I found impossible to see clearly and never got.  Finished on an 80/100.  It’s missing 1 or 2 on a stand for no good reason and that leaves nothing when you find one you just don’t get.  Vince’s stand all going so well and last looper just stopped my gun!!!  WHY??

That was the same stand and target I struggled with - the edgy midi. First 3 attempts I was just trying to be too precise. Last go I just saw it and moved the gun and boom straight on it. Need to be quicker to adjust what I am doing.

Hit the first three of those, dropped the last one hanging on to it slightly.  What annoyed me about that stand was I missed the first two loopers - overled them. They weren't the only target I missed in front today.

Left the house just after 9.30 this morning and got home about 10 minutes ago.  Really enjoyed the shoot, particularly as it was so warm and sunny, but not sure I can face that journey again - the M25 was horrendous today, both ways.

Finished on 79.  Stands that pleased me the most were 5 and 6.  Lots of people in front of me seemed to be struggling a bit with second bird on 5, but I straighted that one.  Hit all the battues on 6, just dropping the last right to left.  Those that disappointed me were missing two rabbits - left them late and realised after that I'd shot low as I hadn't allowed for the rising ground at the end - and stand 9, where I missed two of each and shouldn't have done - overled the crosser and hung on to the last two going away targets a fraction, missing over the top.

ETA, other high point was the opportunity to sit and have a chat with Sian.

Well done Bebo for making the trip. M25 was ropey today.. not usually that bad.. AGL have new caterers, which is good IMO. And we hit Beaconsfield services after delayed return, so stomach happy today.

Plan is a rare trip tomorrow to WestonWood, which although only a hour from home often clashes with other events, me I’m looking for an upturn in fortunes and will be with younger but far tubbier bro, Bunter by name, middle child spoilt rotten by parents sort ?

Will try and say hello etc, might look feirce ( thats in a loin in Wizard of Oz type feirce ?) gentle really
