Owls tomorrow, unlike Will I am to keep my knees covered
I would...

Well my legs weren’t as bad as the picture above, but my score was.

It actually wasn’t brutally hot because despite the 33 degrees or whatever, the breeze really helped. The course was firm almost everywhere, so my losses were already building up, but three stands from the end we shot stand 12 where I was first up and hit 1! Overleading both targets; nasty edgey, hard to see well. Being first up didn’t help. Head went down and I was just reckless on last two stands, dropping 4 more, finishing on 76.

90 was leading when I left, with some good shooters still to go in last rotation. I would be surprised if HG was above 92 and there are some big names there.

Update.. just heard Rudling on 91.. not sure it’s over. But you get the idea..

Great set of targets, I predicted 92 would be enough and well done anyone who got over 85 - we started on stand nine where I dropped 6 straight away 😳  and we finished on stand eight where I suffered brain fade to drop 4 😑 , just as well I shot most of the rest quite well including 12 which I straighted 😊  so not devastated with 80.

Owls, tad warm, unsure if the heat played a factor as one did find this a very tough slog, pleased to find a few I thought I wouldnt, annoyed to loss a few I thought I shouldnt, some edgy stuff on st5 & st12 were too stiff for these eyes and I made a real dogs dinner of st9 a l-r simo pair of loopers, 5 pairs too, a real brain fart on my part. Squadded with Nick Portlock, Kevin Childs, Andy Seaman who all at times made it look a different shoot to the demons I faced, well shot all three, and a youngster Dan Carpenter showed this old fossil the benefit of youthfull mince pies hitting targets where I simply never saw them. Early scores suggest I wasnt alone in struggling

AGL today, they had done a smart job of keeping stands in the sun to a minimum. Not a hard shoot, but decent targets and a couple of firm stands. I wasn’t going to go as I didn’t feel great after the heat yesterday. Stupidly I did go, slight headache and felt the recoil, shot badly, in front of most things. Twit. Just do go if you don’t feel up to it..

AGL for me too.  Screwed up the sim pair on Stand 5 royally, for a 1 from 10.  Still not sure if it was line or lead that I got wrong.  Otherwise I wasn't horrendous, straight on 4 stands and either one or two away on another 5.  Only other real let down was the other sim pair, where I struggled taking the second target as it was dropping.  Finished on 75, but felt like a missed opportunity for another score starting with an 8.

Yes thanks Bebo just didn’t want to shoot anymore in the heat and then Saturday and Sunday I wanted to spend with my daughter.  Tony worked Sunday but went on to Southdown which was very wet and extremely windy.  I think he was the last so just went round with one ref.

AGL wasn't actually too bad, most stands in the shade, no queues when we shot (12.30 onwards) and a little bit of breeze to help with the temperature.  Drove past the turn off for Court Farm on the M25 this AM at about 10 on the way back from the Game Fair, but it was hammering down and blowing a hooley, so we wussed out.  Ended up having a windy shoot at Willow Farm, but at least avoided a soaking.

I've got to drive up to North Yorkshire on Wednesday for an evening meeting and back down on Thursday.  It may involve a sneaky diversion rather EJC.  I need some compensation for having to go all that way just to attend a planning committee meeting.

AGL last Friday. I shot a 94. Sraightforward shoot imo, shot in front of the targets I missed.

Then Grimsthorpe for their FITASC now this wasn't straightforward 76/100 which got me 5th OA with a HF of 83!!

RBSS today for their annual Reg shoot, which takes place over three days, Mon- Wednesday.

Lovely weather and always a nice place to be.

I started on their pool shoot, a sort of 25 STR. Missed first bird out, then managed the rest, so happy with 24 but kicking myself for the first target of course.

We started the ESP on the harder stands and I had missed 7 after three, so feared a disaster but dug in and was tidier during the rest for 88. The usual sillies, “should have been 92” and all that.. 93 leading when I left. Should be a 95 HG if somebody is really tidy. A lot of driven and high crossers mainly, but other stuff dotted in. Lacked the best possible variety but still good.

You came joint first on the pool shoot so you gave a slab of cartridges.  96 leading the main event.  Good shooting with you today Will.

Ooh, goody, didn’t know it was daily prize. Huw Stephens 96 which is superb.

Coleys today, thankfully a bit cooler than when I was last out, got more right than wrong, only one mare stand, young Sam Usher 94 high gun, not many in the 90’s, it was a very pleasant afternoon 😊

I went to RBSS. Fairly steady course which I made look taxing. 2 of first 3 stands had a target right in front of the sun which didn’t help. Also took a whack on the shoulder from a big chunk of clay - no idea what stand it came from. Thankfully it wasn’t a couple of inches higher as would have hit me flush in thr face. Think I straighted just 1 stand. Plenty of 7’s. Ended on a lacklustre 77 but and enjoyable afternoon, nice squad and wasn’t stupidly hot.
