Grange Farm and Westfield, I shot one stand at each shoot really well, the rest of my shooting was very meh.    Both well attended just one stand at Grange we waited 40 mins to shoot, it was our last but one.  Couldn’t see a reason for it just a busy stand.  Westfield was second today and a few stands I struggled with sun and one with a bush 😂.  I’m taking hedge clippers to,all shoots from now on.  Good targets though, abused Steve a bit always makes me feel better 😂.

Small chips by comparison, but absolutely over the moon about my shooting today! One stand at my local club constantly gives me gyp, a pair of oscillating rising outgoers from underneath the pier you stand on, but today I felt pretty calm and nailed all 8 of them; usually I get a couple or three at best! So happy. I shot them earlier than I think I usually would have without consciously meaning to so hopefully I'm progressing on holding on to the shot too long as well. 👍

Oxfordshire today, warm and sunny, in a shooting vest and not a coat which was pleasant. Shot sportrap first and on tod as it had been quiet, luck was with me and I managed to get most things right so 😊 Shot the sporting with Colin Waite it was just the two of us, One managed to misread first stand, then proceeded to hold on to l-r targets far too long dropping some I think I shouldnt, last stand did though straight a 5pair simo stand of tasty teal to finish on a 😊 there too. Could have done better, might not, spent an hour afterwards drinking tea and putting the world to rights, in all a nice afternoon out, Owls tomorrow for more of the same

Owls Lodge this morning. Just so nice to not use a coat, gloves, or boots. Wasn’t even windy.

Started well, but had mental meltdown. One of the few target presentations I hate is a proper teal, presented as second target on report (so no time to calmly prepare for it). Sadly there were two of these today and I hit 1 out of the 8 on offer! I’m sure I was trying far too hard to overcome the anticipated difficulty and looking at the muzzle. Very annoying. Still ended on 89 but could have been so much better. I shall “just shoot” the next ones I see.. Grrr..

Owls also, in polo shirt 🌞 aplenty, our squad was a seven, all good chums getting along was a bit like school Im a C and all chums A AA and AAA, one enjoyed the course, managed to get most things right bar st9 which had a l-r the type of which Im really not getting along with. Overall a very good day on the clay.

They made us start on stand 9. Was happy to straight it. Nasty intro..

AGL very steady shoot which I shot like a blind person.  Nothing of real difficulty today.   Could not have asked for better weather.   I know the cause, my stock needs adjusting after this weight loss.  It was good to hear Richard King affirm that he has seen me shoot a lot better than that but really just a waste of time going today.

AGL for me too - first time. Scored 80 a personal  best, yes not the hardest shoot but for a newbie like me stand 3 (scored 2/8) was a challenge. Then singles dropped everywhere else, I seem to have developed a habit of nailing 7 then missing the final one. There will be big scores going in today, especially as Richard just turned up so probably a straight! I’d back it.

I went last card. Saw RF in the car park and he had just finished and told me to use my welding goggles. Turns out he had hit 97 which won it. Sun was tough when I shot. I lost three that were really hard to see, with bright sun but low clays going in to shadow making some very hard. Also I couldn’t always use a good hold point as I was using the gun to block the sun! I would say it was a steady shoot but with three fairly tough stands, so if you got through those it wasn’t too bad. Really kicking myself for some that I missed, did OK on the tougher stuff. Finished on 93.

I shot AGL today first time there.we skipped stand 1 (busy) and started on 2 not the best place to start. My mates both messed up badly there shooting the midi first so I shot standard first was heading for a 9 until missing the final pair. Finished on 87.

I shot the lower left one first. The midi? Went better than I hoped, just missed last clay “making sure”.. nasty stand I thought.

Isn't it odd that when you shoot a new ground it's difficult to judge range. I missed everything in front (which is unusual for me) and my mate who is a AA verging on AAA really struggled and ended up behind me.

Shot the Cheshire shield at Hodnet on Thursday. Great targets, but I was let down by the nut holding the gun. Certainly not my best outing, but added to my list of targets that I need to practice.

Really struggled shooting stuff below my feet. 😩
