Just looked at the weather forecast for Friday. That and the fact that I am swamped with work at the moment means that AGL is looking unlikely for me.
could have done with that for good Friday.I have the morning off work and need to be back for 2pm. So aiming to get to AGL for first cards and hoping ita not crazy busy with everyone want to shoot the last registered before the English Open. I see they have finally stopped free practice on reg comp days. That should help.
shot, this place has a lovely clubhouse, well worth a visit,Managed to give myself the afternoon off to sneak along to Oxfordshire Shooting Schools 50bird reg and 25 sportrap.shot in a very friendly little squad with a few friends managed 24/25 on the sportrap and 47/50 on sporting.Tim Thornett who i shot around with shot very well for 48/50,a very pleasant afternoon with a great bunch of people.
Exactly that. Certain number of squads per start time. You shoot in the same group and ref comes with you to trap and score. Means the ground doesnt have to have a ref for every stand but also means a max number of shooters. The big comps use this format to keep the course flowing (assuming no breakdowns).Daft question from someone new to sporting...
What does it mean when a Reg shoot says 'squadded'? I get that the squad is the small group you move from stand to stand with. I've only shot one reg shoot, and I ended up teaming up with a guy I got talking to in the car park and a couple of people he loosely knew.
How is that different from one which says, for example, 'telephone entry and squadded'. (I obviously get the telephone entry bit). Does it mean the shoot allocate you a squad and a time?
Thanks, and I know this seems a strange thing to ask,, but as I say, I'm new to sporting and these things aren't always obvious!
The one caveat i would make to that is that at big shoots Worlds,Masters,Classic, etc even though squadded there will be a ref on every stand and your squad will carry the card with them..Exactly that. Go regular, or used to, the little leader is lacking in customer relations and a total numpty with clays thru the sun. We avoid now in the winter but will back regular as the sun gets higher on the horizon.Anyone with any experience of Orston? I've never shot there, but a couple of people have mentioned it to me... Ta!
Thanks RupertGo regular, or used to, the little leader is lacking in customer relations and a total numpty with clays thru the sun. We avoid now in the winter but will back regular as the sun gets higher on the horizon.

Well done Will. I think I have managed to sandbag it down in one discipline ready for the worlds. :yes:Sad not to make it to Valley View for the SE England champs. Rare opportunity to shoot registered there, but I knew my jet lag would have made me look very poor.. glad at least to end the grading period with my highest average yet..
Ah, explains a lotWell done Will. I think I have managed to sandbag it down in one discipline ready for the worlds.
