over time I plan to pattern every 24g skeet load/choke/distance combination with both my guns and see what the results are and what the best way of optimising the cartridge/choke combination for skeet is without faffing around changing chokes between stands.
For example are fibre and plastic wadded cartridges really 1/4 choke different through my chokes, that sort of thing. Its not a sort of check everything every six months thing, some of it will be once only EVER, some will be to try a new cartridge on the market or try a new idea and I just want somewhere nearby where I can work away in peace without disturbing anyone. N. Ayrshire is 1hr 40mins away and I really can't be arrised travelling 3hr20 when I can have my own plate 15mins away in total privacy.
It's not really to check mount/fit/alignment as I know both guns are spot on, though checking every now and again isn't a bad thing.
the reason for using a mounted plate is so I can use a card for each 'test' and a have a 'library' of results to compare and refer to.
