Still not said what model this antiquated mechanism comes from. But I am informed that carrying spare trigger groups is a must, how much are they. Can't be more than £50. ? I mean look at it. Looks like it dropped out of my Ruger. Oh sh*t it's not that good as the springs never go in the Ruger.??
Rosso, I think that trigger group is from an MX8 Special. Fred (40up) would know for sure.

In recent times I think they are just an option available on any. Perazzi build guns to your request rather than a specific designated model.

In days past they came on MX4s  and the Mirage I think.

Personally I've never had a spring break on my MX8 in 10 years. At least if when  it does happen  it'll be fixed in 5 mins. Not 5 days/weeks/months.

It's a standard production item.  I'll mention again for Rosso's benefit that the thing will fit any Perazzi drop-out trigger model.  I have no idea if it is standard on any particular model.

And the springs do break.  I can't deny that.  I've been suffering with the things for over 20yrs now.  Just a couple years ago I had one break, the first one for me.  That was in a 35 year old gun.  I suppose there will be no end to it now.

Deffo a P gun trigger group although quite a rare beast. The MX10 could be specified with an adjustable trigger. Unfortunately Harry's wasn't but doesn't seem to be too much of a handicap.

Still waiting for my first spring to let go although I have witnessed one fail on a donkey's years old Grand Italia at Rugby. Fixed in under three minutes ....by me :)

I have a spare DT10 sporter trigger group in new condition used as a back up . The DT has gone.

I'm not looking to sell it as I might sometime 8n the future buy an ASE gold sporter which they apparently fit.

I would swap it for an ASE 90 trigger trap or skeet group which is slightly different in how they are held in .  if anyone has one hanging about that is..

You might have to pay a lot to get rid of the trigger Paul, might be cheaper just keeping it

You could well be correct.

Plus I can see it being useful in the future if I find a DT11 with the right stock and barrel weight.

You need to see a doctor if you are having thoughts like that

I had an appalling year shooting last year, with inconsistency being the order of the day .

I stumped up and went to AGL in Jan this year for a gun fitting session ...

The gun was actually fine, the inconsistency is how i approach targets.

Now i have eliminated the unfit from my shooting picture, i can concentrate more on hitting  the targets, and understanding why i'm missing.

Not seen a mammoth leap  in my scores, but now when i see a bird, i'm getting my hold and pickup points much easier, and  killing them in the area i want to kill them, not just shooting at random  so to speak.

Just need 7 numbers, and i'll have Mr S on speed dial ;)

:santa:

Greg,I always thought the grand Italia, was a fixed group with coils. Obviously not , or maybe different versions perhaps.

Does it really matter ?

This thread was started to point out that we are all in search of the Holy Grail.

Interestingly enough at yesterday's Cheshire Shield , which is seen by many to be a season opener '[Big One' the HG was using a very well used Guerini, the second overall was using a well used and often abused Miroku and third was using what many have commented on as being a worn out useless Guerini Summit.

I can assure you that both Guerini's and the Miroku only had worn out users.

Two very good friends , one a World Champion, have changed guns to my favourite hate, both are struggling to find form , one is now on his eighth gun ! ! ! !  the other often shoots 56grams at a target (thought 28gram was the max?).

So I would say there is no magic gun, only pride of ownership and the other an ideal tool for the job . Take your pick or search for both, the choice is yours and yours alone, it matters not a jot what I or anyone else thinks, it's your money do what you YOU want with it.

The only trigger group that resembles this photo is a MX3 special that I can find?
Thats correct.. The MX3 Special is also badged as a MX4.  Just depends on what market it was intended for.

The MX3  had an action like the MX5 (rounded barrel monoblock like a Beretta so the were cheaper to produce) with a removable trigger group (Top firing first)

The MX3 special has the same Barrel monoblock as the MX8 but a flat sided reciever.  It was known as the MX3 special in American markets and the MX4 later to avoid confusion in Europe.

(So Karls book says)

Les

Maybe mistaken about it being a GI. The person in question certainly used to shoot a GI but I noticed recently they had moved on to an MX8. They may have already changed before the incident. These Perazzi's all look the same to me :)
