Starting an open thread for those shooting the Churchills Classic this week at Wycombe.

I'm there on Saturday @ 0900 - I know some other ShootClayers are there earlier in the week so would be good to see what people think of the shoot.

Our squad is on at 9.30am tomorrow (Thursday)......looks like waterproof clothing is the order of the day......

Im Sat, not sure what time yet... Looking out my office window at the brutal weather; not really looking forward to it to be honest!

I'm on Friday at 9.30 start. Looks wet and windy. Got soaked last year too! Saturday looks like the best option. Ho hum.

I just rang EJC to try and move the whole squad to Saturday, but it's full. Friday looks the worst day, with rain and highest wind speed. Hope the bbc are wrong..

Bit of a ballbreaker :p

Shot the Services and Gamekeepers Day today with NickyT (don't ask  )

Torrential rain made an already tough shoot even tougher

I managed a meagre 41/75 on the Blue Course (Nick got the same) and a slightly better but grim 51 on the Red (Nick got 52)

And we were the highest on our squad

I thought they were very good testing targets. Some were ridiculously close range, some quite rangey loopers and stuff. Good variety, lovely bit of ground.

Red Kites all over the place, great day out, shame about the weather and the crap scores. :D

Hmmm. 54% and 68%, while your ESP average is 78. Let's hope you were having a bad day (in the rain).

Which course is the blue? The one on the estate, or at the shooting ground?

Sounds a bit more promising than last years effort! Hope were lucky with the weather!

A very good shoot - relentlessly testing but fair with some great targets; especially the selection of midis. I don't mind admitting that I was beaten by some very clever target setting. Fair play to Duncan Lawton and co! If I could shoot it again tomorrow, I would love to - even in the rain! :)

Blue course is in the grounds, red is out on the estate, but not on the same terrain as last year ; further down and more varied. You'll enjoy the simmo white going away pair in the woods! ;-)

Shoot well!

Hopefully a bit of knowledge of the shooting ground might assist me on the seemingly tougher course.. Fridays forecast has now improved rain wise, hope it's dry..

Local knowledge will definitely assist; everything is there to be shot you just don't have the luxury of easing yourself into either course. Whoever wins will have thoroughly earned it!
