My observation is that most of the complaints and negative comments are coming from people who didn't attend the shoot.

Everyone I've spoken to who competed in Dubai last week is going back next year (assuming it's on again).

I did a quick count up and over a quarter of the entry (250+) were UK shooters so they must be doing something right.

Yes there were a few communication issues (like not telling anyone where the Gala dinner was being held or what time it started. Not a problem if you were at the official hotels but an awful lot were not. Nor that it was being held outside...and bloody chilly it was too!) and organisational issues (like the last bus leaving at 5.00pm prompt on practice day while a few were still shooting, although this was quickly resolved with a few hastily commandeered minibuses) but overall the event ran like clockwork all week.

Hopefully they will learn and put these few issues right for next year.

Harry and I have already talked about going back next year. If there is a next year?

DT

Equality for women may be a couple of years off Nic, if he put all the layouts on one side of the road it would almost eliminate any weather issues, I know a lot of people asked for a mix of report and sim pairs. I asked for goat to be put on the menu for next year....

Nicola, I did not see hubby's name on the list, was it the sheeps eyes for lunch or the targets?

Thought she used a DT10 or 11? Mind you I as a rule I don't follow the sporting scene so I'm probably wrong.

:fie:  Looking at the photo I would never have guessed?

Interestingly ....nothing and i mean nothing has appeared yet on the CPSA website or CPSA Facebook site congratulating Cheryl's win.....despite it being the biggest sporting prize won by a woman to date...and despite it being all over the social media. Do they not know that Cheryl is a member?

Also nothing on there about George's two wins out in South Africa. Or Tony Manvel's wins in the Veterans.

Is it any wonder that the CPSA are currently advertising for a Communications Officer......they certainly need one.

The website and the FB page are supposed to be the 'front door' to the sport where anyone interested in taking up shooting would come through......where they could find out information and interesting news....and be encouraged to see what can be achieved.

It really does beggar belief.
Totally agree, would have almost expected to see it on the national news as the prize money was so huge.

I get more feedback and info from being on here

Looking at this thread, it seems that the ones who talk positively about the event were the ones who went and the ones who aren't so positive didn't go.... I'd love to go one day but may have to wait until my lad is older. Hopefully it'll keep going for a few more years yet.

This is the sort of stuff that should be on the front page of the nationals.  But that doesn't happen without someone doing the background work so good that they're getting a communications officer.  :pilot:
