The main problem is that the correct trigger pull gets 'distorted' if the finger is really wrong. A light trigger is hard to control if the finger is too far round. Sensitivity is lost and you can fire before intended. At least I did..

The firearms officer pointed out a gunshop just down the road from me. I had no clue the shop has been there for so long. Jumping up and down with excitment, it is a saturday, so had to give them a visit :p

Had a good look around some Miroku's and then i held and mounted a Berretta 682 Gold E :D How well this gun fits compared to the others i do not know yet, but it felt very very comfortable, and i think i found my first love :.:
A little tip for you.......just because a gun feels great in the shop does not always mean that it will actually be great to shoot. I know, I've been there.....many, many, many times! Please try the gun out if you can, or at least try a similar one out somewhow. For a long time, every Perazzi I touched felt great, but I could never get consistent with the things, no matter what I had done to them. But I kept on buying them, until I gave up on them and went back to what I knew worked for me. :wink:

Absolutely correct!

Well i have said it before and i Will say it again. Doesnt matter what you get you Will no doubt change it within the year. With respect when you first start shooting you have no idea what fits and what feels right and even if someone tells you it fits perfect it may not suit but you wont know any different, same with cartridges it Will take many years before you can really and honestly tel the difference. Buy a gun you like and within budget then buy the best cartridges within budget and shoot as much as possible. One day you Will know what fits and what feels right until then dont get blinded with science.

This is only my opinion of course others may disagree.

Very true skeet and buying the beretta gold e is the same as the silver pigeon just different wood and adjustable trigger
Well not quite. The SP 1 is a 686 action and the Gold E is a 682...two different actions.

Very true.

I would advise someone to buy whatever they want, then just get it to fit...not buy the one that fits, even if you don't happen to particularly like it.

Thanks for all the advise. I am glad i chose this forum over the others :)

Ok, so i found my way onto Guntrader site. Although not set in stone on which brand/model to buy, i thought i should do some homework and get some info and prices i looked up the search functions on Beretta 682 Gold E to give me a starting point.

From the list of different Beretta's, i thought that was confusing enough until i looked at this specific model, and shows 30" as well as 32". Also states different variants, trap/sporter/double trap... ???

I realise adjustable means having an adjustable stock, but christ, how many different models are there within a model :eek:

Welcome to the wonderful world of clay shooting machines!!!!! :.:

What discipline do you intend to shoot ?

Ah, yes shotguns are just like women!! Many different varieties from all over the world, and they all have there own niche in life. So try a few out, see how you get on with them, and then settle down with one. If after a while you may decide you want something else, just trade in for a newer model, or keep the old one for the odd occasion! :D

Mick it is much easier and cheaper to change a gun than a woman!! :.:

I can vouch for that my friend. 1st wife cost me a fortune to get rid of.

Guns are much less hassle.

And you can have as many as you like on your Certificate, so long as you have somewhere for them to live.

I tried adding another woman to my Marriage Certificate...they wouldn't let me, even though I had somewhere she could live.

The lady in the office was very rude and even called me stupid...she said "What? Are you a mormon?"

Calling me stupid when she can't even spell moron!

;)

So stick to guns....

.

At the moment just looking to shoot sporting :)
Then go for the Sporter. Guns are like jeans. You want Levi 501's, but they come in short, long, baggy, slim...still a 501!

I've had three wives and could not put any on the same certificate! What a rip off!!! :eek:

With experience you become more particular in your choice. The good looking ones don't necessarily produce the best results.

Should be spoilt for choice with good used sporters from any of the top brands any of the 682 range would be ideal particularly if you can find a good original gold or gold e. Happy hunting.

are we taking guns or women now

6 REASONS WHY MEN PREFER GUNS TO WOMEN.......

1. You can trade an old 45 for a 22;

2. You can admire a friends gun & he'll let you try it;

3. Your gun stays with you even if you run out of ammo;

4. Guns function normally everyday;

5. A Gun doesnt mind if you go to sleep after you use it;

And the best one........

6. YOU CAN BUY A

SILENCER FOR A GUN!

You mean, sometimes a tired looking "gun" that has had weight added in the butt, is usually more appreciative, doesn't care what you stick in it etc?
