How many shooting grounds do you know of which have stopped doing Reg Comp's?

Cannot imagine that any ground takes the decision to stop registered shoots lightly, there are all commercial business's after all. No business can or should be expected to sustain loss after loss. Most grounds that have stopped reg shoots still operate as practice and or corporate ventures so the opportunity to shoot there still exists, and who knows maybe a return to reg shoots if an upturn comes around. Re the thanking, in hindsight most ground owners ( Longridge, Westfield, Coleys, Southern Counties, Barbury in my limited experience) if they see you leave make the effort to thank us for coming!

I generally say thanks to the ref and the owner, but do sometimes forget, usually when I've shot the stand like a one-armed blind man! Must try harder.

Anyone know if Upavon and Gunsite are going to continue with registered ESP this year? :hi:

Gunsites starts up next month, upavon April I think and I'm sure kibworths doing registered again from april

Dartford don't charge extra to register skeet with CPSA cost of registered shoot is £26 which includes referee Fees !

We have never done a registered or Comp without a referee in attendance, only practice ref themselves.

Nah....... sporters won't pay more....

It's like this see

Sporters love to moan about everything.....!

As Will said.......he told Claudio his layout was crap and even sent a letter explaining it all (politely I am sure). I do not know how many others do this at grounds across the country......a little word of advice here.....a little word of advice there.......I know that Worsely used to experience 'course setting experts' and that was years ago.

There are toooo few grounds and they should be appreciated.

How many on here say thank you ref each time they leave a stand (when he or her has been sitting there freezing their balls off all morning).

How many say thank you at the end of the day to the owner who provided the shooting no matter what you thought of it.

I do.....when shooting sporting or anything.....always.

Now think if you were a ground owner and got moaning and 'helpful advice' or letters....what would you think...?

I give you a hypothetical senario...

If it was me........ (and you might be getting one of these people a month) I would think......who is he?......I will look him up on cpsa to see if he was a new Digweed. Ooooops no he is not....so I would then think 'cheeky lover'!

Then there are he ones that moan about everything from shooting to squads to waiting etc etc .....oh and moan about cost of competition (as we are not expected to make a living)....or that they don't want people to be having lessons because they want to be in and out quick because their Sunday dinner is in the oven....or they have another shoot to go to.....

Well I would receive all this information and think....you know what.......I cannot be arsed with this competition hassel anymore.

I might consider it when shooters value it so until then ESP guys.........do you want to shoot OT or UT and learn a sport where the big boys play?

That is what I would say to sporters who are losing grounds : laugh:

Disclaimer before softarses start......this is not meant to be a comment about all shooters....just a wake up call to the moaners out there.....who 'could' be spoiling it for others. (and I am not singling out Will , I was using his example volunteered to expand on.)

Hope that is clear enough peeps.
have you been drinking????

Does 'anybody' know what this is meant to mean...??

Or why a post from 25/1/13 has been dragged up and a strange comment made by someone who i do not know and who has just joined the forum ???

Me too. How strange to search an old post and put this.

Anyway.....
The answer for Macca Ladd is....................if you are meaning alcohol, then No.....not at that time of the morning.......not yet......neither the sport nor the people in it have driven me to that yet  ....
........but..........coffee Yes as around 8.52 am I would be just finishing my breakfast in bed, doing all my emails and watching the hares box, whilst gazing out of my window thinking.

Mmmm, how strange!!!

Could it be a mispost by the software?  I think Nicola said that she had something appear in the wrong thread recently.

Yes I think it has probably been a mistake or a joke that has gone over the heads.

It's not that strange a reply, nor is people reading and replying to old threads, not that 5/6 weeks is that old, especially new members to whom it's all new.

I agree - someone new, reading old threads - picked it up and replied.

Not strange at all.

I agree that it is strange to open your account on ShootClay with such a post - but people are people.

Beats a lot of other non strange :comando:   exchanges methinks.

As you say, people are people...and are entitled to an opinion, whether they're new or not.  Agreed, a little off the wall to start, but no big deal.

Ok so you think it is normal to ask someone if they have been drinking at 8am....

That is not strange.

Ok that is fine then ....I will remember and try it on a Hampster or Clever post.

......and you can deal with the squeeeeeeling .

L. O. L.

Glad to see that you all think that this is fair comment.

Right - lets have another go at what I said...I'll try it with some numbers, and see if those make it clearer

1. I don't think it is strange that someone opened up an old thread.

2. I do think it is strange that they made the comment they did.

I didn't say it was fair comment.  Number 2 indicates that.

Nicola, you stick with your usual kind remarks. I would hate to see you slip into anything nasty. Hamid and I would be so upset, indeed shocked, if you became unpleasant.

Mebbbee that's just how Macc speaks..................and we should all just get used to it......................and we should all just not misinterpret his real meaning.

Where's a squealer smilie     when you need it.

Maccladd obviously lives in a time warp, harmless in itself and hardly worthy of anything more than a passing comment. he likes to research before he comments, he just needs to adjust his timeclock and speed settings and he will be fine !!!
