How many shooting grounds do you know of which have stopped doing Reg Comp's?

Nicola, you stick with your usual kind remarks. I would hate to see you slip into anything nasty. Hamid and I would be so upset, indeed shocked, if you became unpleasant.
See .......more attacks for no reason at all. Tell me... Just why did you come back on this thread and comment...?

@Matt no problem with the thread being bumped. That is normal Internet behaviour for reminding people of things.

The comment would have been seen as a joke between people who know each other.....but between people who do not.......well.......

it is obviously being seen as a joke and an opportunity by some on here.

Maybe this is turning into a sporting only forum, who knows.....one thing is sure.....the attacks and pack hunting is getting just like C lay sporting.com did and it is getting a bit tiresome.

Ok that is fine then ....I will remember and try it on a Hampster or Clever post.

......and you can deal with the squeeeeeeling .

L. O. L.

Glad to see that you all think that this is fair comment.
No reason at all ?! You name myself and Clever specifically and then complain when we respond? Macc made a comment like a thousand others do and have done, no big deal, it's you who is making a mountain out of a mole mound.

Quite!

Nicola, you really cannot be aware of what you dish out, as you seem genuinely aghast if 5% of it comes back at you.

Wish some on here would chill out a bit   :nyam:      :hunter:

How can you interpret this as an "attack"?  Just because someone doesn't agree with you Nicola, doesn't mean it's an attack.  Jeez, you've handed out far worse than this.

Two grounds near me have cut back on registered sporting shoots. Kibworth used to have a reg. sporting every fortnight which then got cut back to every month and now the latest is that they are not holding any more reg. sporting until further notice. The monthly shoots were always good shoots and really well attended.
The other one is Grimsthorpe, a few years ago again they had sporting shoots every fortnight, again that dwindled to every so often. Being my local ground I know a little bit of what goes on there; I know for a fact it would take a week to set each shoot up and that every effort would be made to have totally different layout for each shoot.
However despite in my opinion this being one of the best sporting ground in the country attendences declined and thus it's not encouraging or viable for the owner to put on shoots.
I agree with Nicola, it seems despite the best efforts of the ground owners there is an awful lot of moaning going on and if they can make a living without having to put up with it then they are going to do so.

As per usual.....missing the point.

1) Who drinks at 8am?

2) why have 'you' bothered to comment.

This is not about anyone having the right to have a say on a thread it is about a comment of drinking at 8am. .....and why a thread was resurrected to say only this.......jeeeeeeze!!!!

I bothered to comment because it's an open forum, nobody owns a thread and I really don't think Macc had a sinister motive. People don't have to know you or me to post something, you don't know me for example.

Thank god one would have to say.

Anyway chaps......sorry to leave the conversation but I am busy with my IT guys on a more important problem.....you feel free to comment.

I refer you to the post where I clearly said that it must have been some sort of a joke or mistake by Macc who equally I do not know.

Its a strange old world I worked with lots of people who had a drink before 8.00am I used to go to Smithfileds in the good old days when you got a "Wozza" with your bacon sandwich I used to buy meat there on a regular basis for the company I was working for in London at the time. I always went by taxi going there was fine coming back was something of a lottery at times !!!

It's regarded as a straw baler I grant you. we have a monthly shoot near here at Petersfield. It is set up on a Sunday morning ready for 10.30 start, I would say 70% each month is different from the previous month, that shows what can be done. I would guess at between 100 & 150 shooting. Everyone is very friendly there's no moaning at all. Were all there just to shoot clays. This shoot has been at the same venue for 18 years, clearly it is financially viable, if it were to be registered however I guess the escalation in cost might even make this busy venue marginal. No refs but it is always nice to thank people who have waited behind in line while you shoot. Lessons are also given during shoots, but you adapt by moving to the next stand for instance, everyone starts off as a learner.

I agree - someone new, reading old threads - picked it up and replied.

Not strange at all.

I agree that it is strange to open your account on ShootClay with such a post - but people are people.
Stranger than a forum member asking an American new member if they were pissed?

Yes, thanks Bryan..

In my defence, I didn't realise that he was American, which now partly explains the bizarre ranting style that I mistook for mild mania or a touch of alcohol abuse. Also he was talking, what seemed to me, to be near nonsense even reading between the grammar free lines.

Also, I found his very long post rather presumptuous (that we would read it gratefully), without much of an introduction.

Anyhow, as you might have noted, I did apologise for my initial reaction and comment, because it was a blurt and did not offer proper explanation. Some on here would never do so..
