Miroku 3800, funny almost every perazzi shooter i meet says "i had one of those, shot my best with it, wish i never sold it" most K shooters too..... I cant afford to spend £2.5k on a gun so i guess i'll never be any good.... :(

Oh I don't know I have never heard of a gun being a good shooter :) it the guy behind it. You keep on knocking out the straights bud you are obviously a good shooter who has chosen the gospel according to yahashibastard... but I am learner who has chosen the gun of champions a proper gun :) ! I can afford a gun costing way way more than £2.5k but I am sticking with it as it is all I will ever need the rest is down to me... will I ever be any good ... meh! probably not and never going to worry Mr Diamond et al... am I worried or bothered meh! could not give a toss but I will be happy when I do my first 25 at UT :)

many top shooters particularly old school shoot extremely well with relatively mediocre guns. proof indeed that a gun will not necessarily make you shoot good. there are certain people who do not rely on "good" guns but rely purely on talent, but of course most of us do not believe that it is us that are at fault. if you can push past the doubt with your tool you will shoot better. end of

I think you are absolutely correct Ian but if you are a believer and are shooting your choice of gun well then that's all that matters no matter what make. There are probably many ways of thinking about it but I prefer to think that while a good shot will do well with almost any gun the truly great trap shooters who have won countless titles with Perazzi use them not just because they are sponsored there is an element of belief and confidence gained from the tool they are using. I now have the same thoughts regarding cartridges. The confidence I now enjoy using Clever T2 has convinced me that I don't need to search any further or spend any more. When I see targets literally disappear I know if I do my bit they are doing theirs... near misses are the same as any other cartridge due the clown behind the gun nothing more than that.

I am correct john, dont want to name names but its a fact. I am not a top shooter and never pretend to be but even I admit to shooting some of my best scores with a 450 quid parker hale and cheapo shells.

I have often seen a medalled shooter pick up something ordinary and shoot it well just to show a youngster not to blame their gear before themselves!

I never blame the gun only myself when I shoot badly just as I feel good within myself if I shoot well because I know it was me swinging the gun! That does not however change the fact that one of the reasons I am shooting well is because my equipment is giving me the confidence to do so. I think I can say a confident shooter is going to be more successful than one who has any doubts about what they are doing.

I being from a scientific background and based around statistical analysis for read out keep a register of all my scores and have done since I started serious trap shooting two years back. The upward trend in the curve since I started shooting the Perazzi is not imaginary... and the really good thing is it is still rising :)

Of course again being a believer I discovered quite by accident the other week the benefits of enjoying a pear drop sweet just before the start of a round. I don't know if it is the sugar or the effect of the amyl acetate in the sweets but the calming effect it has on me is amazing, I was as steady as a rock! I kid you not half a dozen will be going with me to every shoot hence forth... if you believe things can happen the placebo effect proves this time and again :)

I would be willing to bet that was in a period of your shooting during which you were a believer not searching for the route. Then you bought more expensive equipment and did not get the lift expected leaving you some what unfulfilled and searching within for the reason... you need to start believing again Ian :)

All true. But you have also to consider we were all younger, quicker then.

I shot at my best with guns costing a fraction of my K.

With changing up to top end guns over the years comes a belief of invincibility.

This is not always the case.

Scores may go down. Then what what do you do.

That's kind of where I'm at. Been there for 12 months.

Averaging scores of 60 - 85 sporting registered.

John and rosso

both very true points you both make.

so the answer is i am old slow and knackered

No No Ian! You are a relative youth it is your youthful mind that is causing your problem... you are thinking too much :) I am old but not yet knackered and nearly into my sixtieth year but am still on the up curve! Relax use the tools that you already have and re-enter the world of the believer again. Stop thinking about what you need to make you shoot like you used to and focus on what you already have and re-find your maximum again... Oh and try the pear drops one just before you shoot a round they are amazing!

Are Pear Drops on the IOC banned substances list??  Sounds like they should be?   :prankster:

Unbelievable that you can just buy them across the counter. Even kids can get them!!!     :sarcastic:

I must admit, as I don't drink tea or coffee I don't have any caffiene intake. When I drink a can of Red-Bull I absolutely fly!!! Great for waking you up if you feel a little jaded, but very bad if you are trying to sleep.

1 can of Red Bull has I believe 84 times more caffeine than a cup of coffee. The Red Bull shots are even worse.

If true you have a mega caffeine intake. No wonder you can't sleep.

I started drinking decaffeinated coffee by mistake! Wife bought a jar of instant and I tried it Mmm. not bad and quick so just kept using it turned out it was also decaff don't use the other stuff anymore don't even take my beloved espresso anymore Lavazza are going to regret that error I made .

BTW I am not kidding re the pear drops :)It happened and I believe! Everybody has a slightly different physiology and the very small amount of amyl acetate in those sweets might just have had a beneficial effect on mine!

On a lighter note I am trying to source some Kryptonite heard the red stuff is the mutts!

Espresso is relatively low caffeine content, French press (caffetire) and stovetop pots and percolater coffee are higher in caffeine (due to caffeine being water soluble).
