Trip up to Greenfields at Sturry with the OH this morning. I never score well at this ground and it's a bit of a bogey for me, so was quite pleased with a 73.  I've scored higher elsewhere, but this is a PB for a Reg shot at this ground for me.  Felt like there were a few more out there as there were several stands where I was bang on the targets then took my foot of the gas a bit a dropped a few.

Got round fairly quickly so we dropped in to Willow Farm on the journey back.  I only missed 2 clays out of the first four stands, but then the concentration lapsed a bit and I finished on a 55 from 70.

Late trip to WestonWood, met up and shot with Joe Hale, Zea, Sean Foley & Mrs Dannille Brown, I only picked the P gun up from its fitting session on friday and a dozen or so practice clays apart our first outing since.

Our merry band trotted around reasonsbly quickly, no 4 hour shoot today ? Joe apart, (the boy did shoot very very well), the rest of us had a bit of a roller coaster across the stands with ? and ☹️ By all, me a few too many ☹️ as ones brain farted far too often,

Weather held so a good December afternoon spent with good chums who in the main shot well, Joe 90+, Zea 72, Old Codger 67, Sean 78 and Dannielle Brown 74

Sorry dont know HG scores, am off to bang head against the masonry then clean MissP

?

Long day oop north  well north for me.   Out at 7am and back indoors by 7.30pm.   Orston and Kegworth.  Happy with 5th in class at Orston on an 83.  Two bad stands missing 7 of the 16 - bloody orange.  On to Kegworth, light was dropping fast there.  We shot 100 because they had trouble with a stand earlier some had only shot 92 so we had a stand taken away in our scores which had been a straight for me!  Therefore finished on a 65/92.

It was a trip to Weston Wood on Sunday. Couple stands quite similar to the last time but some nice variety in other locations.

The prescription glasses are getting to be less and less noticeable which is a great thing. The borrowed gun is still lovely; I can completely see why people rate the MK38 trap guns as highly as they do!

I ended up on 80/100 so pleased to have an 8 on the front of the score but would have been happier with a couple more. The majority of my misses were mid/end of stands which points possibly to a concentration or 'trying to measure' issue. All things to work on!

Owls Lodge today, was. ❄️ -3 when l left home and a near tropical ? day and +2 at Owls ? trying out some new contact lenses and only 2nd shoot out with the recently tweaked MissP, car park looked full, ground not so, started on stand 1 and after a brief chat with Fred a rare straight, yes one or two a bit chippy, on my tod today and hopped around the stands, had a disaster on two simo stands and also on a pair of green crossers, green a colour that Ive always struggled with mind, shot a report pair of rabbits very well ( thats what the very kind scorer said so its ? ) and straighted last stand to finish on 74 which is ? for this old codger, Owls has in the past “tore me a new one” in crude terms so Im doubly ? to, in my little world shot well.

Looked to be getting busy, I left at noon(ish) and sorry other than C class I didnt look at scores, Id imagine FB will show all later

And indeed they are, Jon Kendall 97

my 74 - third in C as one of the three 76’s went birds, thems the breaks ?

Abandoned owls due to M4 closed J12. No signs. Chaos in area.. wasted day.
Its part of regular weekend closures for bridge repairs. Follow Get Reading page on FB.

Went to Owls late. Started well enough dropping 3 in first 5 stands including a straight on stand 2 which apparently was only the 4th of the day. The wheels fell off at the top. Partly due to no queues so started rushing. Stand 12 rabbits killed my card as did not hit the first one at all finishing on a 3. Finished on 79 and would have taken that before I started so can’t grumble.

Not going anywhere this Sunday, weather is forecast to be sh*te and bitterly cold.

so folks it’s by the fireside for me glass of red in hand waiting for the roast to cook..... luvly jubbly

Just the glass ? do have one for us hardy (???) souls

Same here with regard to Horne.  If it isn't pouring down I'll pop out to my local shoot for 50 birds.

Oh you poor silly daft buggers...... just think tomorrow when your feet are cold and your wellies leak, when you can’t pull the trigger because your fingers are frozen, when that drop of snot at the end of your nose is threatening to turn into an icecle and the snow causes  miles of tailbacks on the roads.

I’ll be warm and dry....... am I a wuss...... you betcha

:brr:

I’ll be at Southdown tomorrow Sportrap at 9.10 followed by Sporting and if time Horne on the way home.

Layer of snow down here so Greenfields down to 60 bird comp but really great fun all the same with the crowd who braved the roads and bitter cold. I shot really well dropping only 2 on the first five stands which were wind affected, even got a nine on the hard 40+ yard Teal but somehow managed to drop four on the last stand for 54 which I'm happy with to be fair.
