Around 6 weeks since my last reg shoot

Westfields today a 92 ....Excellent morning out with Doug who also shot well!

I predict a 97 will take it today
It felt like Spring had arrived at Westfield today. Had to start taking layers off halfway round, I’m not complaining, it was nice to be in just one thermal top!

Shot the round with Turkey 🦃 who was on fire as always apart from a few hiccups. I didn’t put in a big card but I was pleased with my shooting today. Hopefully back on the upwards slope from the slump I’ve been in. Gun felt great and more a part of me than it has done previously.

Ended on 77/100 which is a couple above my CPSA average so pleased about that, especially as it was Westfield.

Excellent ESP shoot I thought at Southdown today, sadly I fear I threw away a classy score having missed only 4 clays out of stands 1-9 only went and hit 3x8  :yell:  on no. 10, simple enough going away orange with an overhead report bird which for some bizarre reason I didn't even hit once ! Even managed to straight stand 13 which everyone seemed to be struggling with, not unhappy with 89 but could so easily have been better. Did Gatton Bottom reg on the route back with 91, 97 was winning as I left and even George had missed 3 on the platform (same as moi), so wanted to do Dartford reg as well but would have had to drive a bit naughty to make it.

Now, Southdown's dirt track up to the clubhouse  :frown:

Sorry but please tell me if it isn't now totally unsuitable for anything other than truck type vehicles and high slung 4x4's ! It's not like it's just a 50 yard hop either, it's about a mile of deep ruts and huge holes absolutely everywhere. I recall some fancy shoot being held there years ago and the foreign contingents found it incredible that we put up with these kinds of access routes. It's high time they either fixed it themselves or at least do a "Go fund me"  appeal and ask South East shooters to pitch in and raise enough money to have it done, I'm in for £50 if anyone can legally organise it and make sure it gets spent on that track.

ps. just ought to mention I think the standard of referring at Southdown was ace.

Did Gatton Bottom and Dartford with the OH.  I shall now tell him that he beat George and Hamid on the platform.  He only dropped one of the left to rights for a 7.

That platform tripped most people up. I watched two blokes in front of me have a nightmare, the second one blanked it. I then explained to him what I thought his errors were, so they stood there with a “go on then” stance. The ref said “George missed three on here”, so I’m now thinking “no pressure then”.. Luckily I pulverised the first pair.. missed the last two greens though..

I missed the first pair in front then connected with 5x 6 and two mega solid breaks on the green ones too, needed swing and line more than over cooking the lead.

I missed the first pair and never got on the second bird at all.  Think I might have been in front of it.  Overall I was a bit shabby, shooting under too many incomers and teals.  Finished on a 71.  Did better at Dartford for a 79.  Would have been even better if I hadn't dropped seven on one stand.  Again, I think I was probably in front of the target I struggled with there as well.  Dartford was great, every stand bar two empty as we walked up, round in about 45 minutes.

I believe you won Ladies at Dartford 👏👏👏

It’s been a while since I had such a good weekend results but I think I was due one.  It’s been up and down for a while loving and hating Dora almost at the same time.  Anyhow shot Westonwood on Saturday for an 84 with just one really bad stand.  Went to Eriswell this morning and finished on 83 despite two stands of 4/8 which of course involved orange quartering in the wooded area.  Was chuffed to get 8/10 on a sim pair L to R which involved a standard and a 50mm it was my last stand.  Then to Highwaymans where the weather had warmed up and a good variety shoot ending on an 81.  Teals and driven I did well this weekend.

Yup, saw that on facebook.  If I'd entered in my Class would have got second and my first every prize in B class.  Won ladies at Horne as well (didn't see any others there so nothing to brag about).

Just saw that.  👏👏👏

Ta.  Probably more down to a reduced entry rather than my own ability to be honest, but I'm still happy.  Pays for my entry at Court Farm on bank holiday Monday.
Don’t knock it, have to be in it to win it xxxx

Calm down, looked like a full stop to me 😂.  Was chuffed anyway it was a tricky stand.

I shot highwaymans Sunday for the premier League. Misread 3 targets that’s cost me 11clays in 3 stands. Finished on a semi reasonable 74.

Then shot eriswell. A closer more fiddley course. Got jumped by 3 rabbits and missed a complete pair in the middle of stand 10. Otherwise shot it well. Finished on 91. almost placed in A class.

Didn't shoot eriswell but I did highwayman's. I shot 79 just under my average. The battue on stand 4 or 5 needed a massive gap

That was my first stand, full house.  It was a big gap.

Big weekend of shooting coming up. Thank god for payday....

Friday - Edgehill to shoot some skeet, ABT and DTL

Saturday - Lesson at Honesberie then meeting up with friends to shoot some more

Sunday - 'All Round' at Orston

Monday - Longridge

That's probably 500 shells, which is a lot for me. Appreciate that's just an average week for some on here
