Went out for a round at Willow Farm, bitterly cold wind blowing snow into your face was not fun.  Think it's a day off tomorrow.

Started my day round the cafe for 4 pancakes and warm maple syrup.  Up to my local club for a variety of disciplines and then on the way home stopped at Greggs and got hot sausage roll and a  Yumyum.     Bitterly cold and snowing and windy.

Does anyone know if Weston Wood shoot or access to it is likely to be affected tomorrow ?

So far as we know Steve plans to go ahead.  It shouldn’t be that bad, main roads until you’re on the property.  We went when it snowed before.

Yes should be fine getting there. Not so good once you leave your car.. ⛄

I’m still likely to be daft enough to go as long as the forecast doesn’t get any colder, snowier or windier..

No Westonwood or Garlands today.

Well the snow did not hinder us we managed clear roads to Barrow Sporting Clays and Northampton although there was more about at the latter.  The wind on the other hand was bitter and I’m sure it was several degrees below because of it.  I had so many layers on so I prevented hypothermia.  Barrow was a steady round, I still managed to miss too many but very enjoyable and for the weather and a first shoot by new owner set about right.  Nothing hideous, you could see the clays well and nothing silly on edge and all there to be hit but you still miss.  Missed my last two clays and ended on 86.  Northampton was colder and the wind blows around that course.  Enjoyable but kept dropping 2 and 1 and had 1 bad stand - the score was disappointing to me 71 but actually it was hard going so I’m Not going to beat myself up.  Home now to fresh snow fall here.

Bad day for me as having to leave very early to get to Weston Wood's last shoot meant I didn't find out it got cancelled early this morning  :( , 139 miles each way  , the last shoot has now been re-scheduled for Sat 24th but unfortunately I'm not likely to be able to get the time off work. I did Court Farm reg which was luckily on the route back, nothing too testing just wind affected and very cold.

Such a shame and very annoying.  Thank goodness at least you got to Horne.

If you contact Steve or Aysha via FB they'll add you to the list for txt updates.
In this case it would have made little difference as unless I knew the night before I'd have had to leave before the text or FB notifications were given on the day, checking texts whilst on the move is also not necessarily recommended.

The txt arrived at 6.49 am Sunday. Might have saved you some mileage and time.
The point is many people deliberately leave their phones away from reach to avoid distraction, any actual calls being made can be received via bluetooth. On the odd Sunday when I can spare the whole day to myself I plan the day so I can do at least two shoots and the furthest is usually the more sensible one to leave very early for, the circumstances were exceptional because normally the shoots are cancelled with a day or two to spare.
