Not my finest hour, still on course for B class   so made sure this card went in.
Went and shot the pool shoot at Wallers Ash a couple of times and then on to 4CTC,targets better slightly,a new stand location and couple of decent targets but the first 3 in the woods and a couple going out into the field same as always 🙄

Rabbit speed on stand 3 very random fairly sedate to rocket powered on occasion!

Just the one shoot today so chose four counties.  I too was pleasantly surprised that some change had occurred and enjoyed the round.  Started on the pool shoot and Tony shot 10+10 and then onto course.  I dropped three crows which nearly sent my blood pressure through the roof 😂.  I was very happy to hit all the teals as some of you know I simply hate them.  Last stand in the field down by the pool shoot I didn’t see my first bird until it was practically on the ground, have no idea where I was looking but it wasn’t the right place!  Then hit it then missed it then hit it.  Finished on 85 so was pleased to win B.  Tony shot 90 so he is coming along with his new toy quite well.  He then shot off with Billy and John on the pool shoot and they put on a stonkingly hard first bird from the left a standard that was approx 70 yards away that climbed across and then went away - only Billy managed to hit twice.  Billy shot 6/10, Tony 4/10 and John 3/10. The purse was £150 but they agreed to split it and shoot for £5 which I have to say was extremely good of Billy because his chances were by far the best.  Tony also managed to come joint second in A.  So we had a good day’s shooting for nothing and some money left over.

I was behind you at one point Sian, watching how you took some targets and I gave Will the look of "well she's rather good!" at which point he told me who you were! Another face matched up to a username. Great shooting.

I did see you yes.  Glad you enjoyed it. I have good days and some very disappointing days, consistency of temperament is my biggest weakness followed by paying attention. I continue to strive.

I also went to 4C. Did my usual of starting with a straight and then just dropping random 1's and 2's pretty much every other stand. I actually walked past stand 4 as had never seen them use that area before. Was a good pair of targets there which I smashed the first pair and then dropped 3. Stand 6 I didn't hit the first bird chondelle once so was my worst stand. Stand 11 I nailed the battue first time and then never hit it again which was annoying. Sloppy round overall but ended on 80 so can't be that upset.

Definitely a good course. I struggled to see some of that stuff in the woods well again. Actually collecting some new glasses today as my distance prescription has changed. Might assist..

I only struggled with that edgy away orange bird on 1 - missed two of those due to a very light background. Felt like I was just throwing the gun in the vague area it might be.

They've made some real changes to the layout at Greenfields lately with new stands created on the top field and set to throw some very hard combo's in both distance and general flavour. 😮 Last week my 84 pipped two decent names to second by a single target and the HG had to have a second round to score 85, very few seemed to be complaining though as we all enjoy tough targets.

Yesterday the theme continued with few if any gimme's anywhere, managed 87 which was two behind highest score when I left, anyone getting past 90 would have been on their game.

Any idea when they are opening over the Christmas period?  Might be worth a drive up to Sturry for a practice.

Nothing on their website as yet so no real idea but from past experience they tend to be quite good for opening times at festive periods.

I'm always dubious about their website.  A few years back they had on it that they were open on Boxing Day.  Long drive later to find that they weren't.  I'll give them a call later in the week to find out.

Yes on 10.20. That squad full though.

7 degrees and dry!
Mine says subject to rain from about 9 ish to way past shooting.  I am of course hoping you are right.

Oh and 7 degrees but feels like 5!  you are such an optimist.

Went to Owls, enjoyed the round with the squad.  I didn't shoot particularly well and it rained!  Third layout had a hair failure or rather the hair band I bought to smooth down all the little hairs that usually fly about my head in wind and it was windy, decided to fall down at the back and I just lost my composure as I struggled getting it back on and my glasses with very cold hands.  Last layout was my best but we did have two breakdowns on one particular bird so that took its toll in terms of getting colder.

EJC Sportrap today. Another great course, although the sun was a pain on two layouts. Not targets through it, but strong distraction in your right field of vision and darker glasses needed made some targets harder to pick out. I was using a new prescription of glasses, which gave me crystal focus but I will now have to slightly suss the lead pictures again, as it’s all more magnified. Hoping it will get me back on form though; promising. Did an 84 today which was a reasonable start if not great.

Update. 87 would have won it, but Chris Childerhouse turned up and did a thoroughly rude 98. 😆
