Just to balance things and prove things don't have to be that tough for low scores, 😬 meshot a "10% trashworthy" score at JBD Sporting today 😱  😝  hoping EJC tomorrow doesn't turn out as bad as some of the latest horrors we've read about.

Went to EJC this morning. Met a lot of people with PTSD who had shot Ian Coleys yesterday.

A good course at EJC. Still full of cold and in chilly sideways rain I didn’t do my best but it was as enjoyable as possible in the circumstances. I shot a few stands too quickly, to get it over with which showed in what I missed.. Stand 12 was rather haphazard in the wind, but otherwise it was just a good middle to firm shoot. Finished on 84. I think people should hit their average there today. Chris Biddlecombe leading on 96 which is outstanding and I can’t see being bettered even if pm weather becomes marvellous.

I too shot EJC in the rain yuk.  On my own today as my usual pals were busy and I really don’t like shooting on my own.  I didn’t feel I shot well at all although around my average finished on 76.  I lost 5 on stand 3 just lost the plot on that and 4 on my last stand 12 in the bomb hole as I like to call it.  Couldn’t make up my mind which way I wanted to shoot it. The rest were just find it lose it type of errors.  Would have liked a pallet to stand on in the grouse butt just made me feel like I’m peeping over the top of a trench.

Met a shooter from Yorkshire who came down to shoot Coleys and EJC and nearly never came to EJC he was so demoralised yesterday.

Poor bugger, perhaps he should trade in his Beretta for a set of clubs... I’m sure Will H  could help....

In all honesty I liked the shoot, you really had to work hard to build a score. Next months shoot will be entirely different...

Churchill's for me too, as seems the usual case for me it took an extra 1-1/2 hours to do the 110 mile trip as the M2 was closed both ways for a while due to an accident 😑  thanks to satnav taking over for a new route, I re-discovered parts of the M20 I hadn't been on for over twenty years !

Missed 3x4 of the white L/R crossers on the stand below the platform which was only my second stand and with the wind and driving rain if you'd offered me an 80 I'd have taken it and ran at that point. Thankfully shot some quite hard stands really well later on including 6 & 8 which I straighted in rain so all in all really quite pleased to hold average with 87 - I thought 12 simmo was very clever and testing without overt nastiness, very good shoot all told.  :)

Coleys also, found it tough 😐 got lots wrong, made errors aplenty,☹️ didnt like the use of the green clays, less so an incomer with grass background, old mans eyes mind. A simo trap target stand of 5 pairs trashed many cards, it was told that earlier in day a shot “mistakenly” put a cartridge full into the carosel 😳 For me, and would imagine Im not alone in thats it is a day to forget. Hoping that this mid week 20mins from front door shoot offers more joy rest of summer,
Yep the green on green thing is popping up around the grounds . Along with other stupid colours. Just not fair targets.

The only way to change things is to complain, time and time again.

I talked to Mark after I shot at coleys and he agreed the sim pair was silly.

and on some stands the use of coloured clays was an error

If you don’t talk about it nothing will change...... so make your thoughts known at the shoot, not on social media days after.

I’ve known Mark a long time and have great respect for him as a shooter. However he takes criticism very poorly so zero point raising it with him.

MM did engage with our squad whilst we were shooting, (after 11 of the 12 stands had been shot) comments / feedback were freely given, he would have been in little doubt of feelings of many. Would add that as a shooter this old chap at the best of times struggles on through, and its generally a bit too awkward at my lowly level to raise such matters.

Most grounds now use colours, speeds and edge on presentations that quite a few young bucks with sewer rat reflexes treat as meat n drink, trying to set a sporting course for the diverse entry that rocks up must be trying in the least.

I will go back, plan is to shoot them all, its on my doorstep so to speak, one hopes 😊 return to all

Kegworth today for the 2 day England Qualifier....Started off badly on the first half shot the second half very well

Finished on 84

Very tough 14 stand shoot

I feel a 92 will take it

I went to my first visit to Ham Cross near Salisbury. Bit of a trek but good to try something new. Had myself a bit of a head game as took some White Gold 7s I have to use up, because I thought it was going to be full of long targets. First five stands were all close and fiddly and I was so concerned about tight pattern shells (despite trying to forget them) that I was all twitchy and missed a bunch where I really should not. A better second half on longer targets and a calmer head, but damage done, so 84. A very nice little shoot all told.

Are any known results available?

Well there’s nothing on within  reasonable travelling distance of me..... last week there were two shoots within 20 miles of each other...

so it’s feet up, read the papers open the odd bottle of vino and enjoy a chicken dinner.....

Two day shoot, its HT, some geezer Matt Turk 82 is all we know 😉

Ben usually gets the scores up pretty rapid evening of shoot on his website English Sporting Clays, its that or await CPSA posting in week,

If you trawl through his vids he even manage to film me at Hornet, 😊

Shot Horne today. Been shooting like a blind man lately and my round turned was a tale of three thirds. Started on 1 and dropped 8 over the first 3 stands. Then somehow managed to pick myself up and only dropped 1 over the next 6 stands. Then threw away a decent score with a 4/10 on my last stand. Finished on 81 which was disappointing but still happy to get back in the 80's.

Got back to my car to find some muppet in a red escort van had parked on the end of the middle row so blocked me in even though I had reversed into my space (glad I did otherwise would have been lucky to get out at all). Luckily the mud bath going into the field had dried up since my last visit so was able to get out the long way around.

Court Farm for me too.  Mine was a game of two halves.  Dropped 24 clays over the first 6 stands I shot, then only 6 on the last 6.  All over the place at the start.  Poor hold points, really sluggish and barely moving the gun.  Probably the too many beers with the curry I had last night didn't help, it just took me ages to start moving.  Lucky to retrieve a 70 really, but feels like a waste as it so easily could have been an 80-plus day if I'd shot the first half anywhere near as well as I shot the second.
