I would just prefer there to be a "CPSA" thread and then there can be sub-threads as required as well as threads for each region.  I don't like the tag of Shooting Politics but its my personal view.  Hopefully those not interested will hit the Ignore button as Nicola does seem to wind up the usual crowd with her cajoling and badgering style.  Perhaps it can then become a productive forum for those interested to evolve a decent set of new Articles.

To be fair Robert I have simply stated the facts......also on the other threads I made it clear that I would carry the proxy for a vote for either side....as it did not matter a hoot to me which way people voted so long as they voted.

Today I seems to be a flypaper for T£&@S.......so I am signing off and going for supper.....hoping that they have all recovered themselves to better manners by the time I return.

Better manners? Is that a euphemism for changing ones view so that it agrees with yours? :ermm:

Michael, it is Nicola and i have no intention of trying to change you minds. I am happy that you are happy.

But you described me as a 'loud voice is trying to rally us to a given cause, that we may not find just'

Everyone who knows me know that I am most certainly 1) Honourable and 2) Just.

I take time and patience to explain things that come up that most like you (who as you say are not bothered) often miss. I explain it as clearly as possible with the information that is currently known.

I am not sure how you can say that a voice on the internet is loud when i do not type in capitals......or that I have an 'unjust cause'.

Hence my comments to you here. I do not know you and you do not know me. If ypou read back what i have posted on the topic of the AGM proxies etc you will see that i have yet again been proved right.

If you do not want to be informed that is your choice....but others do.....and we have the freedom as adults to discuss remidies.... to say things about my character / manner in this way is not only unfair but is also unjust as it is not true.
Nicola, I have corrected my spelling, it was not intentional.

You clearly believe your cause is just, I however do not share your view. I did not imply that you were unjust, nor did I imply that you were in any way dishonourable. I also didn't say I was not bothered, nor did any part of my post suggest that I do not want to be informed.

I will not involve my self any further with this subject.

Michael

At last, half time at the Forum. I shall put Fawlty Towers on pause and have a read of the latest Trap Shooters Fiocchi World!

Well Matt, plenty to read at the airport whilst your waiting to board, or are you actually bored?

Viva the CPSA and all who wish to spend on her.

If you don't like what you see, drop your membership and get off the bus!

You can take a horse to water but you can't make it drink.

We will have to be more tactful in our approach and hopefully members will see the advantage of using their vote.

I hope you do involve yourself further (but I do not have a 'cause') because the new articles will need member engagement and feedback....and......I can see the gems that will come forth from some on here.....so will need sensible content.

No Chard....I know it is a waste of time with you, that would be expecting toooo much. Your whole being is as a wind up merchant on any forum that lets you on. I would hate you to change because sometimes you are quite amusing..... L. O. L.

If you boys have not got the stomach for any serious discussion just say......and we can let in the 'magic fairy' to look after you all.....you know the one that tells you everything in the garden is rosy....whilst you are sat on cloud cuckoo......and Noddy is humping grandma....!!

. I would hate you to change because sometimes you are quite amusing.

When????????

If little else I for one will most probably take far more interest in the proposed revisions from the board than I did of the original matter that has promoted this thread.

I wish that you had read my second part of my post and considered your reply, it doesn't end with £1-50 being taken out of your pocket and saving you a trip to Swindon, it is continually ongoing, have a look at the published accounts and look at the apparent wastage shown there, look back over a few years and see the amount of money frittered away. It is time all this stopped and rather than waste it, plough it back into prize funds, promotion, education and actively encourage new members.
I did read the second part of your post. I read all your post and thought it was very sensible, up until you made the suggestion that I had personally been deprived of thousands of pounds. That's not how most people perceive the issue. I pay £X, I get Y insurance and Z benefits. I only joined for the Y insurance so I can always go and join something like BASC next year. I shot one registered shoot, and didn't find it much fun. I employ CPSA coaches and they aren't much fun either. I'm not good enough to compete so most of the CPSA's work has no relevance for me.

Having spent lots of time working in local government, universities and charities as well as volunteer projects  I know that the price of continuation and sustainability is either money or time. In any situation run by consensus the cost of both is always much greater than if you had one person working alone. It's very easy to point out decisions as being "bad" but most things that I've heard called a waste are a difference of opinion or, more likely, the person saying it's a "waste" is making a judgement of a choice that someone else has made. There may be a large legal bill that could have been avoided, but if I had been chairman then I'd have pulled that as a CYA manoeuvre.  And hopefully been voted out next AGM because I obviously didn't have the interpersonal skills to avoid such situations, but that's by the by.

I've rather been put off CPSA politics. Some of these posts are coming across as aggressive and inflexible. People may well be right, but it's like hearing a 1970s trade union. The lack of consideration of any other point of view is really off-putting. Worse, it's like being back at the Federation of Small Businesses. I don't want to get involved in the politics of a hierarchical organisation which doesn't have a culture of listening and innovation. Been there, done that, bought the t-shirt, been the mug.

EHB - That is a real shame as you obviously have a lot of value to contribute.

Hopefully with the review of the articles and the changes that will be implemented over the next 6 months, it will leave us with an association that engages far more with the membership and is much more open, honest with full visibility of key decisions.

Don't give up on getting involved because of what you have read on here - forums do not reflect the majority of volunteers and contributors that give up their time and effort to make our sport more enjoyable. They are the ones that really need our support.
