for those who are offended by my comment on 1939 1945 if i have upset you i apologize but i think you are missing the point i was trying to point out if you dont fight for you rights you will loose them  you are the one i see on shooting grounds every week moaning and groning about the cpsa but wont do anything about it just keep sitting on the fence letting others fight your battle/s but won/t to rep the benerfits
Joe

I accept your apology unreservedly. My own reply was a tad harsh. But you also have to take on board that some of us are not regular moaners about the CPSA, we are happy with our lot, indeed I find the company at most shoots extremely light hearted that's the reason the wife & I do it, to relax. If others have a different view & want to have endless arguments about detail, that's fine. But you should not expect the rest of us to join in just because a loud voice is trying to rally us to a given cause, that we may not find just.

Happy shooting.

Michael

Which loud voice rallying you to a cause that is not just are you talking about Michael?

Your very own of course. You have a fundamental right to be that voice & in some ways I respect you for putting your head above the parapet. But some of us are content with what the CPSA does for us. You are not & are determined to do something about it, I don't think any less of you for that determination, I am not apethetic I just don't share your conviction on this subject, that doesn't make me any less of a CPSA member than those of you who are fighting your corner. To disagree is human.

I do genuinely wish you all happy shooting, that's what matters to me.

Michael.

Michael, it is Nicola and i have no intention of trying to change you minds. I am happy that you are happy.

But you described me as a 'loud voice is trying to rally us to a given cause, that we may not find just'

Everyone who knows me know that I am most certainly 1) Honourable and 2) Just.

I take time and patience to explain things that come up that most like you (who as you say are not bothered) often miss. I explain it as clearly as possible with the information that is currently known.

I am not sure how you can say that a voice on the internet is loud when i do not type in capitals......or that I have an 'unjust cause'.

Hence my comments to you here. I do not know you and you do not know me. If ypou read back what i have posted on the topic of the AGM proxies etc you will see that i have yet again been proved right.

If you do not want to be informed that is your choice....but others do.....and we have the freedom as adults to discuss remidies.... to say things about my character / manner in this way is not only unfair but is also unjust as it is not true.

ehb asked me the following ,

The Board members have various reasons to become involved with the administration and governance of our sport, but should at all times inform and seek the advice of the membership, sadly this has been lacking for some time.

Is that your opinion or is it written in the articles? Some people think that the time to talk to the electorate is before the election. After the election they consider the electorate spoken with and that the electorate trusts them to do what they see fit to represent them. If you don't like it, you can elect someone else next time.

As for those who have no interest in the running of the association, could I ask you a question?

Would you be bothered it the CPSA Board and management picked your pocket? I think you would.

So why you cannot be bothered when the Board waste money to the tune of £32,000 on legal action that could easily have been avoided and other obvious wastes of association funds  beats me.

£32,000 is less than £1.50 per member and way less than what it would have cost me to get to Swindon. So they've done me out of £1.50 and I've saved a day.

ehb,

In answer to your queries, that is my opinion as to why someone would want to be on a governing board, to take the association forward and make it operate efficiently and economically, I should be able to hear what and why a Director intends to do for the association before they are elected and once elected I would like to have trust and faith that the board would be moving in an efficient direction, rather than continually getting bogged down in legal frustrations.

I wish that you had read my second part of my post and considered your reply, it doesn't end with £1-50 being taken out of your pocket and saving you a trip to Swindon, it is continually ongoing, have a look at the published accounts and look at the apparent wastage shown there, look back over a few years and see the amount of money frittered away. It is time all this stopped and rather than waste it, plough it back into prize funds, promotion, education and actively encourage new members.

This topic has disintigrated into a sticks and stones agenda. :banghead:    Shame as it started out ok.

Yes it is the usual route Angel. I just do not understand why those who are not interested in the subject make comments on it....often taking it offline deliberately.

Some of us are trying to see a way forward safely for the future.

And we have not even got onto the skill sets of the Board yet.

I think you'll find the post in question invoked Godwin's rather than broke it! :-
Here what he said:

...  its a good job these wernt about in 1939 to 1945 we would all been wearing black uniform...

So actually, no, he didn't: as you can seem, to invoke means something completely different - he didn't 'call up on', 'cite or appeal to', or 'cause' Godwin's Law; actually, he was guilty of invoking Nazi imagery, thereby proving Godwin's Law and infringing its precepts.

As a Usenet [although it now been expanded to cover all Internet] discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches 1."

You have already professed many times that you are not interested.....so why keep chipping in with negatives....when others (me included) are trying for the positives).
I'll keep it simple. I don't like emotional blackmail and I don't like the constant underlying implication that those of us who don't support your crusades lack moral fibre.

As for 'trying for the positives' I can only comment that there's nothing even remotely positive about your constant state of war readiness with i) CPSA & ii) anyone who doesn't agree with you.

Perhaps Matt could consider a new sub forum for the CPSA bashers. Now there's a positive suggestion just for you!

Yes, that's my view exactly.

It's OK to say people shouldn't "chip in" but if it's being implied that they're spineless, stupid, shortsighted, lazy etc, just because they don't share the same view, then you can bet your life they'll "chip in"

Yes maybe a separate section for shooting related politics would work.

I am wasting time my time....you will manufacture what ever you want in your head and then drivel it all here. Enjoy yourself because I am not interested in your constant rubbish or rubbishing of people who are doing something..... I am not convinced that you even understand English.

You are coming across as a really wet person.......'emotional blackmail'....purleeeeeese  crusades  reeeeally ....war readiness.....you are a tad emotional aren't you. Bash the CPSA....you have no idea....silly boy Pike.... If I was bashing the CPSA why would i give all the free time sitting on two committees and doing countless tasks unpaid.

You do make me smile....your understanding and take on a situation is classic.

But you do make me smile when i wonder what you would be like face to face.

Cry cry.......all i have said is 'do something' .....anything....but take an interest.........or if not...stop slagging off those who do..... no need to cry all the time.

I can see that it is round up the wolves time again and taking this thread, which is important to some of us.........totally off line......and only because you all want to puff out your indignant chests......shame it is not about the right topic.

As i keep saying.....IF you are not interested...then why come onto the topic to spoil it. It is a very simple question....if you have nothing to contribute because you have said you are not interested....then why ruin a thread.....as per usual.

Even people who want to contribute are sending me messages saying that they dare not comment.

P.s. I am not sure who has said any of your emotional things but they are most certainly not mine....apart form one....LAZY..... and i stand by it....

Nicola, and all in the thread. This is not a good advert for new members of this site or forum.

Are we trying to attract people to the sport or will they think 'what a bunch of nutters'?

We are working to safe guard the sport....that is why we got our ass out of bed on Saturday to go to the Agm ...snow and all.

As for the nutters....there are certainly plenty of those as well.
