Well it would be wonderful to get that link - but honestly, I had an email from my hosts at 09.24 this morning:

"traffic stats for shootclay.co.uk are way above average today, have you changed something significant?"

Traffic is through the roof (for this, and the Stratstone day last week - which was 300% over average.

But @pete121 if you are listening... a link to the Dubai liveblog would be great...

All very nice, but they've got no topography??

I'll get my coat!  :fie:

Well done Don,  I am hoping as a magazine reporter and photographer there to report the shoot that you will give us an unbiased and accurate report on the shoot?   or are you there just for the food?

Though everyone wanted Fitasc back to being tough

The organisation and infrastructure on this shoot is beyond belief air conditioning everywhere even in the loos , the main marque is probably something that has never been seen before in the shooting world , a main straight Tarmac highway leads to all the layouts , four on the left and four on the right , gazebos , water stations everywhere all new Laborite traps and clays , all black ones. Jcb loadsll a for height

First time I have shot abroad but this cannot be matched anywhere so all the critics beforehand sorry you got it wrong

Now where's that pool

Going on who's there competing it needs to be tough or you'd end with a huge shoot off! It will also show how good these top boys really are! If there's so much money up for grabs it should be bloody hard IMHO :)

The actual shoot is allegedly going to be stiffer, with a bit more spring and distance added.

There will also be elevated platforms for some stands whereas all the practice was from the flat.

The light conditions are interesting, and all the clays are black. There is a lot of bright sun but also a fairly smoggy background for some layouts and the dunes make it more taxing to judge depth and distance.

The Sheikh wants the level of difficulty to reflect the prize money, and it was amazing to hear the excuses coming out of some of the big guns this morning...

I'll try to get a snap of the Sheikh-mobile; he's busy zooming round the shoot in a tiny police Smartcar making sure everyone is ok and delivering sunburnt children back to their parents.

Great fun!

I think the practice is won on 41 but not a true reflection as two layouts were shot at random

Targets to me look great and spot on nothing too scary but thankfully I don't think. 198 will win from what I saw today

I didn't shoot practice the pool and sun were too big of an attraction this morning but really looking forward to Sunday start , water parks tomorrow

Solomons Kerching $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ I can feel it in my water

Ed Lyons,

 (1) You must list the Top Guns amazing excuses please.

(2)   You must sell a complete new range of glasses to cope with Smog, Dunes, Sun, Sand. I will only want 10% for the idea.

Finally all those of you that are envious  and wished you were there . Worry not . It's not real . It's all an illusion.

Remember it's Friday  and Friday means 9 p.m. Channel 12 Dave,   Dynamo Magician.
