I came this close to booking last night (closing date), everyone including wife wanted me to but having to tie up so many loose ends work and private wise just couldn't talk myself into it.

Where are people staying over there? Have looked at quite a few hotels and think we have provisionally booked the Ramee Rose, anyone else staying here?
ramee rose is a nice place stayed there for three months whilst working on a job there.if there are a few of you traveling together try the grand belle view appartments they are in the same place as the ramme really nice place.

I regularly travel to Dubai. It's a civilised place and simply requires people to act with decorum.

For clarity, the following is also illegal in the UK:

- being drunk and disorderly

- drink driving

- taking illegal drugs

- sexual harassment

- dangerous driving

- road rage incidents

You can dress how you like in Dubai - it's not illegal to wear a short skirt/ shorts and vest - you will just find yourself "red carded" and asked to leave the shopping centre.

I doubt you will pay by cheque in Dubai and so you are not going to find yourself arrested!

The only area in which there may be an issue and where the law (rather than the punishment) substantially differs is for gay people who should be discreet in public.

I really don't understand the pointless worry about Dubai. Behave in a civilised manner and there will be no issues.

We have been there many times on holiday. It really doesn't feel limiting or oppressive when you are there. Inside the hotels you could be anywhere in Europe really. And I'm not the tolerant type..

Well said Sarah.

I think that some of it is the fear of those who do not travel much

It's good to see that they have not let their standards drop through becoming more international or multicultural like we have!

I should also say that we have let our standards drop anyway in some respects just in case anyone accuses me of just blaming the incomers.

Last day of a holiday in dubai( yes I know I screwed up the dates). The shoot will be one to remember, partly because they want to impress the shooting world and partly because of their hospitality.

Shooting conditions are great, mid 20 s a little breeze ,but very bright. Let's hope there are'nt to many targets in the sun.

There will be plenty of refreshment stations dotted around, so take advantage.

Just remember, a please and thank you, will get you far.

Only wish I was here for a little longer. It would be a great competition to ref.

Cheers everybody enjoy yourselves. :)
