I’d have done a lot better with a pencil at Westfield.?

Salopian is stirring the pot with talk of sandbaggers; its fairly rare on a routine basis I reckon. (Progressing beginners is the usual issue with high C class scores). The pencil works fine until you get caught, like a certain Parrot owner did, hence he is too ashamed to be seen on here or in the flesh.. Allegedly..

Knew i'd seen a parrot with a pencil somewhere!

I get accused of sandbagging lightheartedly...for me the difference between whether i find focus or not!

Focus that illusive thing like will o the wisp to me couldn't find much in the sporting on Sunday but found some in the Sportrap.

Bought the mind vs target book but i think i need a book to translate it...can't seem to focus ;)

Actually Will , I am not stirring the pot . Just being a realist , I think we all know certain individuals that possibly haven't shot the score they have been credited with , but does it really matter ? Who are they kidding apart from themselves .

if they are saying they shot more than they did but it didn't affect the outcome of the shoot they are just cheating themselves for some undefinable reason as it is pointless as it will only bump you up a class where you will win even less!

If you are putting in artificially low scores that is full on sandbagging but it costs you money to go down a class to win money so that doesn't really work.

My scores vary massively 20+ targets sometimes....am i cheating myself? I can assure you it is not deliberate the thought of cheating is abhorrent to me.

Sandbagging (a sort of strategy over many shoots)? Or cheating? Two slightly different things.

I've known my scores to vary by 30 targets. And I've no idea why.

We all know sandbagging happens...... some do it to move up a class, others to go down.

And I think that shooting grounds turn a blind eye to what happens. Last Sunday at Westfield there was NOT a master scorecard in sight, and to cap it off the majority of scorers were very young children.

There was only one lad who was on stand 6 ( a simo pair ) who actually called out whether you had hit them or not.

BTW. why, if it’s a registered shoot are the scorers NOT WEARING EYE PROTECTION.

over to you Steve.....

EJC registered this morning. Lovely day really, although cold in the shade where it was windy.

Well that seemed to have a tough zone between stands 6 and 10 which cost me plenty and most others. I failed to hit the long midi, stand 7? No doubt somebody will mash in a big score, but it wasn’t me this month on 87.

One away to Seven

Missed six

82 got sloppy after that.

Straight from 1 - 5 then missed 2 rabbits on stand 6 and more besides towards the middle (only hit one of those long ones) managed to straight stand 12 as well, happy enough with 86. One of the better rounds I've shot there with a very sensible mix of targets, hard in places but not so silly that you regretted making the long trip.

EJC also, gang of four, one if the last to book in, 150+ entry ? quick peek at screen showing a 87 in C ?? £5 wagered was now looking a tough gig. Due to qs we jumped around a bit, had a pleasant round, found lots of the big targets, let a few closer ones away, was there or there about to just about nearly get the £5er (no more) back only to drop 12 on last three stands which took not only the gloss but the undercoat off my card, our merry gang Joe Hale 89, Willy Hale 78 I think, Sean Steptoe Foley 75.

A pleasant day, a challenge of a shoot on a good ground with chums, ? from me

oh Steve Lovatt 95 high gun

Scores already up on CPSAweb ?

I thought it was a tricky shoot all round , I missed one rabbit , pulled the trigger before even looking at the thing !!

missed the first midi on stand 10 , then increased to a huge lead and caught them up , dropped two of the horrible slow things on stand 10 again needed a big lead and underneath, then dropped the first orange clay on Phil's stand arrrhhh

bit really enjoyed it , think we should shoot more like this .

Had a look at the scores.  Congratulations to Britta Beach on her 87, that's a cracking score.
